SCHOLASTIC ACHIEVEMENTS
Secured All India Rank of 3659 in IIT JEE’10 which is about 98.74 percentile in approximately 0.6 million candidates (2010)
Won young Scientist Competition at school level (2007)
SUMMER INTERNSHIP – Field Gun Factory, MOD, Kanpur May’13-July’13
Reduce the Pulling Force on the Trigger of a .32 bore Revolver:
Performed experiments on a set of 20 revolvers to find the average trigger pulling force
Average load was 11 kgf which is 4 kgf more than the max. force limit and 8 kgf more than minimum force limit
Developed 3-D CAD model of the part of the revolver to be analysed for pulling force and simulated it
Studied the .32 bore cartridge for it’s threshold value of force to fire it
Designed and Simulated a new hexagonal spring for reducing the pulling force
Reduced the trigger pull force from 11 kgf to 5 kgf
Study of movement of T-72 Ordnance and suggest methods for better movement:
Studied all the manufacturing processes through which T-72 barrel needed to go
Studied the arrangement of the machines on the shop floor
Recorded and Documented the discrepancies between the standard and one that followed in the shop floor
Recommended methods to increase the overall time efficiency
Suggested new CNC type machines because the manual machines were taking approx. twice the time
B.TECH PROJECT: Scanning system for Thermo-graphic Imaging of Solar panels:
Designed a new mechanism and developed a theoretical design for it
Electrical equipments required like servo motors, sensors all their calculations were done
Developed all the CAD model using Autodesk Inventor were created for all parts
Each and every designed part was simulated in ANSYS for Stresses analysis
Code for running the servo motors from the sensors and Arduino circuit was written in C language
Tests were done for debugging the code and then it was working successfully
The camera plane was becoming parallel to the solar panel plane when the system was moved as required
KEY PROJECTS
Wind Load on Solar Panels Aug-Nov’13
Analyzed the effects of wind on Solar Panels in various conditions
Studied CFD (COMPUTATIONAL FLUID DYNAMICS) theory eg. R-S model, K-e Model
Learned the required ANSYS SIMULATION SOFTWARE within the limited time and used it appropriately
Engineered and Designed the 2-D and 3-D analysis model in ANSYS and simulated in Various conditions
Verified the results with various experiments and published papers
Finite Element Analysis Aug-Nov’13
Determined and traced the stress field in the whole plate at successive time intervals
Studied fundamental wave propagation equation in solids for the corresponding differential equation for the problem
Geometry defining, Meshing and Finite element Analysis all done in MATLAB
Code for the problem was written and ran in MATLAB and the results were obtained
Code for the problem was verified by solving the same problem in ABAQUS
Light Source for Pit Loom Weavers (Frugal Innovation Project) July 2013-Nov. 2013
Developed a new and innovative design for a low cost light source
Used full wave Bridge Rectifier, Capacitors, Resistors for harvesting piezoelectricity
Prepared CAD design of all the parts and assembled them in Solid works
Working model of the design was also prepared presented and tested successfully
Swarm Robotics: (Computer- Aided Engineering Design Project)
Used the concept of Swarm Robotics in Material Handling processes
Developed CAD models of the finalized designs using Solidworks
Simulated the robots for stress analysis by applying appropriate loads in ANSYS using Finite Element Analysis
Coded the robots for line following, lifting the loads and communication between them
Development of Stair Climbing Robot:
Developed a different and new design of the robot
Designed all the parts of the robot in Autodesk Inventor
Simulated the robot for stress analysis in Autodesk Simulation Mold flow
Developed project was judged as the best project among the class
Railroad HAND-CAR:
Manufactured a working model which converts oscillatory to rotary motion and then converts to Translatory motion
Designed the CAD model of all parts using Autodesk Inventor and then made assembly of all the parts
Designed a flywheel for smooth translation motion
Metalcraft Chess-Set:
Designed and Manufactured a Chess-Set with the board and 32 pieces of players
Made the Thermocol model of all the 32 parts and Used CASTING for all the 32 pieces
Used Single Sheet Metal piece for making the chess board and used bending machine for making stairs
