Responsible for all aspects of a high production operation with 40 employees across three shifts producing
300 tons of materials for use in manufacturing high quality castings.

Accountable for overseeing all aspects of daily operations including manpower requirements,
policy enforcement, safety, scheduling, quality, process improvements, inventory and

Analyzed operations and reengineered core processes to enable a 65%–75% increase in

material inventory by more than $400K without compromising on time delivery

Implemented new processes and procedures that increased holding furnace and auto-pour life by 33%–
50%, resulting in a combined annual savings of more than $55K annually.
Excellent record of improving safety including reducing Lost Time Case Rate (LTCR) and
recordable injuries by 50% year-to-year across multiple years.

performance metrics for daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual production goals.
Acted as liaison between engineering and production and between management and union personnel.

eight year period resulting in promotion to increased responsibilities as Area Production Manager.
MELT FURNACE OPERATOR (8/1997–2/2000)
Responsible for safe and effective use of three 23 BBC furnaces in producing 147 tons of material per shift.
Operated heavy-lift cranes, performed repairs on five-ton auto pours, performed furnace lining repairs,
trained new personnel and made suggestions for process improvements to shop supervisor.
Recognized for outstanding work ethic, consistent long term performance and solid leadership skills in
being promoted into supervision–management position as Shop Supervisor overseeing 35 workers.
KNOCKOFF OPERATOR (3/1997–8/1997)
Responsible for inspecting production castings to ensure quality and removing waste material from product.
Promoted to Melt Furnace Operator in less than six months.
