RELEVANT PROJECTS EXPERIENCE
Irving Oil Refinery, Canada. Piping designer responsible for the layout of knock out drums,
pumps and exchangers on various refinery efforts. Designer responsible for piping layout, tie-ins,
PDS modeling, piping isometrics, and plot plans.
BP Oil Refinery, California. Piping designer responsible for PDS pipe modeling, isometric
production, and Cloud works laser mapping on the project.
Tesoro Oil Refinery Project, California. Piping designer responsible for the piping layout, PDS
modeling, smart plant review, and isometric production.
Marathon Oil Refinery, Michigan. Piping designer responsible for the tie-ins of revamp Alky
Unit, Field works, isometrics and tie-in location plot plans.
EXPERIENCE
1) Four years working in design for Oil and Gas Refinery at Fluor Corp. (from April, 2006 to
February 2010). Create P&ID and PFD documents; red lines drawing and P&ID development.
Performing the Plot Plans layout, steam tracings, tie-ins. Follow the P&ID to layout equipment,
instruments and Piping’s. Perform supports, pipe ways, skids, stairs, ladders for piping and
equipment. Design the fire safety system, HVAC, utility stations, the electricity control panel,
junction box, light fixtures, duct tray… Ensure design compliance with client or company spec.
and codes. Estimate the materials for costing, doing the take-off for pipes, instruments. Perform
task in the Plant for hanging tie-ins, walk down P& ID, checking the Existing, doing measuring,
taking photo and sketching the missing Iso’s. Doing the Demolition iso’s and issued the new
construction iso’s. Work on line-list, tie-in list, change order and check Smart Plant for the
designs. Communicate with other disciplines for the designs and report to the supervisor for the
work done.
2) Four years working as Superintendent in building commercial and office buildings ( Xalaco
Construction Company Viet Nam 1988- 1991) Reviewing construction plans and Specs.,
requesting additional information or clarification for the project if necessary. Performing
complete and accurate quantity take-off and cost estimate for the project based on plans and
specs. Planning total project overhead costs as well as construction time to be included in the bid
price. Periodic updating construction material and labor costs, selecting vendors or sub-
contractors for better price and better service. Processing addenda and pricing change orders,
planning assigned projects and setting their priority; supervising construction workers and
inspecting construction work in process for compliance with plans, specs., permit conditions,
schedules, building codes, labor and safety codes. Prepare project progress reports for review by
superior. Evaluating workers performance for promotion and assisting management in budget
expenditure for the construction projects.
