Experience
Community Education Center
Program Specialist, Full-time
January 2014-Present
40hrs wk
Currently, I am a Program Specialist for a Marion County Community Corrections case load. I maintain a case load
ranging from 20-65 male inmates. With this facility being a Work Release facility, I have to investigate and analyze
passes that inmates wish to go out on, such as job search passes, interviews, library, work, etc. It is important to
efficiently and effectively check the whereabouts of the inmates to ensure they are where they are supposed to be. If
the inmate is out of place, then the inmate is written up on a conduct report and Marion County Community
Corrections is contacted in regards to the violation. I brainstorm and troubleshoot with the inmates in order to help
determine the best locations for them to apply and seek work. Due to violations there are court hearings that I am
required to testify in. Also, I set goals to motivate each offender to better himself in order to be a productive member
of society. I maintain my caseload with different methods such as an appointment calendar, excel spreadsheet, and case
files. Everything that happens, such as phone calls or conversations are documented in SecureMange. I have helped
more than a dozen inmates gain employment within the last couple of months. I utilize different methods in order to
help motivate the inmates, such as recognizing obstacles that the inmates might face, what their vision of their life is,
develop a goal to achieve, finish what they start, analyze the relationships that they have and utilize the positive ones,
learn from mistakes and past/current failures, what is their dream job, change bad habits, and identify behaviors that
they need to change.

I help guide the students in order for them to learn the material in the class. I actively grade papers and
answer all questions that students may have. I motivate the students to look at other perspectives in order to
open their minds for other potential possibilities. I encourage students to complete all assignments and utilize
any means that are possible in order to help students pass the class.
Department of Child Services, Shelbyville, IN/Indianapolis, IN/Elkhart, IN
Family Case Manager, Full-time
Nov. 2012-June 2013/ May 2011–Nov. 2011/ Dec. 2007-May 2011
I investigated reports of child abuse and neglect. The case load ranged from 20 to 40 investigations a month.
Throughout the investigation, I analyzed the information that was gathered to determine the validity of the report. I
started with questioning the parents or children and then moved on to appropriate parties in the investigation. I worked
closely with local, county, state, and federal agencies in order to help bring perpetrators to justice. I composed reports
for the Juvenile court and the department. I assessed the risk of the children and made decisions based on the
information that was gathered. I testified in Juvenile court and criminal court. During the investigation, I would gather
information and evidence, such as photos taken by law enforcement or myself, to use when analyzing the situation and
safety risk of the child(ren). I complied the information and interviews that were completed into a report and entered it
into Majik. Through thorough investigations there was approximately 80% of the families that did not return to the
system.
Arapahoe County Detention Center, Centennial, CO
Property Technician, Full-time
October 2012-October 2012
I screened and checked in property of inmates. I resolved questions that inmates had in regards to their money
accounts. Also, I issued jail clothing for the inmates when they entered the jail. The property in the property
room ranged from approximately $100K to $200K in value, depending on how many inmates were in the
facility. When inmates entered into the facility money entered as well. The money was counted and logged
and entered into the safe until it was taken to the bank to be put in the inmates account. The amount of money
that entered the facility ranged from hundreds to thousands of dollars. There was $1,000 kept in cash in a
draw at all times that was counted every shift at the beginning and the end to ensure that it was correct. This
passed every time.
