of Dow Jones. The Fox News Digital Billing was being handled manually which was an Audit and SOX

Compliance issue. FxCRM Project is supposed to automate the digital billing process and also put in controls in

place for audit and compliance purposes.

The Campaign/Orders are entered into the DoubleClick DFP system from where we receive a daily feed which gets

processed into the FxCRM system. Threshold rules are defined to manage change control which goes through the

approval process before it gets billed. The Billing template file is generated for the Broadway Financial system.

migrated to the Oracle Middleware 11g platform.

Dow Jones Information Technology Group established a Project Management Office (PMO) to support and

enhance Project Management at Dow Jones. HP Mercury’s product includes the following packages: IT

Governance Foundation, IT Governance Administrator, Portfolio Management, Program Management, Project

Management, Time Management, Resource Management and Demand Management.

The Mercury IT Governance (ITG) tool implementation provides Dow Jones with a comprehensive Demand and

Project Management tool. Mercury ITG is a unified, web-based workflow and project management system. It

provides a single project management process, input mechanism, and information repository as well as

management portfolio views supporting key performance measures and decision making strategies. Dow Jones will

leverage the functionality available to facilitate our system development life cycle (SDLC) process and Sarbanes-

Oxley required internal controls.

hierarchy. CourAccess provides individual system level approvals, audits and implementations.

Project: CAU – Credit Card Account Update

CAU implemented a web service based credit card information update/expiry system for all the Business Units in

Dow Jones using the DJCCCP (DJ Corporate Credit Card Processing). CAU was implemented as a web service

module in the corporate application repository. The interface to the bank to get the updates to the cards was

implemented using an XML file interface as defined by the FDMS (First Data Merchant Service).

• Inherited the project at the end of development stage when the project manager/SME left the company

The Billing Consolidation project’s objective is to integrate xCRM, Exact, COMS, Opera, APAC, and CIBS into one

consolidated Billing System. CIBS will be the base system for consolidation and all systems will conform to the

Factiva model for billing. The project involves a onetime conversion feed from xCRM to CIBS and a daily/monthly

feed automation from CIBS to xCRM to maintain the permissioning and royalty modules in xCRM.

processes currently in place that will require the introduction of both technology and process automation and

enhancements to correct. The project consisted of the following modules:

• Atex E2 Billing system to xCRM interface for Customer and sourcing information

• xCRM to PeopleSoft Billing interface for Invoices and adjustments

Weekly and monthly files are created in xCRM for customers and billing transactions which are fed to PeopleSoft

billing to create customer invoices and adjustment documents. xCRM assigns the target invoice and adjustment

numbers as well as a batch name and number for each batch. The customer detail file must be sent first then each

billing and adjustment batch is sent to PeopleSoft Billing. The customer file represents any new customers or changes

to existing customers. The customer file is passed from PeopleSoft Billing to CARMS AR prior to invoice/adjustment

update.

Licensing Services group is a leading licensor of market news, data, investment analysis tools and other online

Project: xCRM – eXtended Licensing Billing and Contract/Revenue Management System

Role: Project Manager/Business Systems Analyst/Technical Lead

The xCRM System is an internally developed MarketWatch application that supports a number of functions and

activities that are performed by various departments and divisions, including MarketWatch Licensing, IT, Finance,

Accounting and Billing. The application was designed and developed specifically to support the MarketWatch License

Sales process from booking to billing.

xCRM provides four types of functions as follows:

1. Customer Management (Contract & Billing, Inventory, Commissioning, Revenue)

2. Service Management (Sessions, Filters, Exclusions, Products),

3. Vendor Management via xPRM (Vendor management, permissioning and entitlement)

4. Royalty Management via SCBPM (Royalties/Usage)

xCRM also interfaced with Oracle Financials and the Epicor Financial systems and the SCBPM Royalty

Project: SCBPM – Client Over limit Billing and Provider Royalty Management

Role: Technical Lead

Pinnacor’s clients can receive, select, and use content from Pinnacor’s proprietary system, which aggregates,

normalizes and filters tens of thousands of pieces of content per day. Selected articles are then either hosted on

Pinnacor’s pages or delivered to clients via Pinnacor’s technology. Clients may use our application to populate

their site with content they choose or clients may let content populate automatically without editorial control.

Customer Care Portal (CCP) was a CRM application exclusively designed for Customer Service Implementation

and Trouble ticketing. The system was used by the sales and customer service staff to access the customer related

information including contacts, contracts, products, etc. The implementation group used it to track the customer

implementation and renewal of the contracts and services. CCP was a web based application designed in .NET and

C# with a SQL Server backend. It had a direct interface with the billing financial system for customers and related

information.

Project: Oracle Applications Implementation and Customizations

Role: Sr. Software Developer

The project involved Oracle APPS Financials Implementation for Sales Management, Order Entry, Accounts

Receivable, Accounts Payable, Purchase Order, Asset Management, General Ledger, etc. The system was customized

to handle the licensing billing and custom workflow defined by the business. Existing screens were customized for

specific needs and new screens and reports were created as plugins to accommodate extended modules for contract

management and permissioning, etc.

Project: Enhancement And GST Conversion For BIGW, SYDNEY (AUSTRALIA) Nov‘99-Apr’00

BigW, Sydney, Australia is a company having a chain of stores distributes throughout Australia. It has all its operations

and processes computerized. Each of the stores has a separate database on Informix and controlled by the central

system, which is in Informix as well as in Cobol.

Australia is going to implement a new Tax system called GST (Goods and Services Tax) starting 01st July 2000.

According to GST some of the goods and services would be taxed 10% of their selling prices and some of them would

be exempted. Australia currently has a tax system called WST (Wholesale Sales Tax), which would be removed once

GST is implemented.

The project involves making changes to the existing systems to reflect the new tax system and isolating the old tax

rules.

Project: User Documentation for Tata Special Steels Ltd., Bombay (INDIA) Jul’99-Nov‘99

documenting all of its modules, which required through understanding of the processes and also of the operations of

different modules.

renovation of the different systems.

4GL available on UNIX based machines. TRIMS are targeted at Programmers, Test Co-coordinators and Project

Managers.

make the Reports Y2K compatible.

For North Central Data – Cooperative (NCDC), NORTH DAKOTA (USA) May’98–Sep’98

North Central Data Co-operative (NCDC), Mandan, North Dakota, develops software and provides data processing

services for Rural Electric and Telephone Co-operatives.

In the General Ledger module there are various tasks such as setting up accounts, entering adjustments (transaction

entry), setting up budgets, period-end processing (includes distributing account balances and printing financial

statements), and year-end processing (includes distributing profit and printing financial statements).

General Electric Information Services has all the EDI services. Data Warehouse is built by collecting data from various

on-line databases viz. Client*Talk Express, ECLIPS, REVENUE, Change Management System, Global Revenue of

GEIS. The off - line warehouse will sit between a front-end and many on-line databases of GEIS.

The targeted users for this project were managers and analysts. The information in data warehouse will be used for

analysis and reporting.
