Employment History
Recruited for Senior QA/QC Engineer position in SHIMIZU CORPORATION INDIA
PVT LTD to construct the ILIN project from October 2012 to till date at Patal
Ganga, Mumbai, India.
Responsibilities:
Monitoring day to day operations of department personnel to guarantee compliance
with both client & code
specifications.
Implementation of quality control procedure manual processes for conducting day to
day operations, tests and inspections of products, services or processes.
Evaluating quality and performance as per client specifications.
Reviewing manufacturer's products and provided recommendation for design and
specification purposes.
Reviewing and approval of all associated supplier issued quality assurance, control
documentation, problem solving of field inspection non-conformances and deviations

JAN 2012 to OCT 2012: Appointed as QC Welding Inspector for CAIRN ENERGY
INDIA LTD., through ABS INDUSTRIAL VERIFICATION INDIA PRIVATE LTD at
MDPP terminal, Bhogat, Gujarat.
Main role is to perform all necessary inspection starting form IMIR/ dimensional
inspection according to AFC DWG/ fit up & weld inspections of tankages and
interconnecting pipe lines in fab yard and in erection.
Tankage part involve inspections regarding Banding, Peaking, Plumbness, Spot or
100% RT of Dome/ Knuckle/ Shell joints, annular and bottom visual/ RT/ Vacuum
inspections, Nozzle/ Sump/ Outlet orientation according to the Code reference of API
650 or 620.
Piping inspection usually starts with IMIR/ Bevel preparation / joint fit up/ dimensional
checkup as per given drawing/ joint secure until the weld commencement/ pre heat/
PWHT/ hardness/ Hydrostatic Test and RT etc. according to the given
DWG/CODES(ASME 31.3/ API 1104/ ASME 31.4/ ASME 31.8/ API 5L) and within the
processes (ASME SEC IX/ AWS D1.1)
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Insured that all inspections lied within the scope of recommended CODE by the
designer such as ASME- B- 31.3, API-650, API-620, ASME SEC IX, ASME SEC VIII, ASME
SEC V, ASME SEC II A and SEC II C.
Receiving orders from the project manager.
Reviewing all documents relevant to the project, including a detailed action plan
adopted by the project.
Reviewing all documents pertinent to the project, including; ITP, method of
statements, QAP, minutes of meeting, issued bills, workshop drawings and technical
specifications.
Coordinating with the safety officer regarding safety requirements.
Preparing periodic reports regarding the performance of work to be presented to the
project manager.
Ensuring that all stages of the project is going as planned and the consistent within the
scope given.
Handled Tasks:
Construction of Floating Roof, Cone Roof and Dome roof fabrication & Inspection
techniques as per API 650/ API 620.
To train and educate Welder at the Site and precautionary lectures to resolve weld
critical conditions.
Knowledge about AWS, BIS, BS and ASME codes.
Knowledge about work permit system & JSA and several SOPs and safe work practices
in running plants.
Knowledge in studying and understand P & ID and welding symbols & NDT symbols,
typical application & storing of welding consumables.
Control of residual welding stresses and stress relief heat treatment of weldments.
To inspect Raw materials, T.C. review and Witness of mechanical and chemical tests.
To witness, establish and approval of WPS, PQR & WPQ records.
To conduct Welder's Qualification test as per ASME section IX.
To plan and execute the hold points in various stages of inspection for pressure
vessels, and process plant equipments.
To witness of Hydrostatic test and leak test.
Radiography Inspection:
Follow-up of RT extent of inspection according to the CODE API-650/ API-620 for
annular, shell, and dome joints and if necessary for the fouling joints with RF pads etc.
Roof plate weld, bottom plate weld & weld joining shell plate to bottom inspections
shall be subjected to vacuum/ oil chalk and Leak tests.
To give witness by considering plate thickness into account as is less or equal to
10mm, one spot in the first 3 meter of completed vertical joint welded by each welder.
Apart from one additional radiography shall be taken in each additional 30 meter of
weld without regard to number of welders. At least 25% selected spot of T joints.
Location of spots shall be as per API-650, FIG-6.1 for Welded Tanks for Oil Storage (API-
650).
D.P.Test:
Accomplishment of DPT by capillary technique to the annular joints & visual inspection
of shell to annular plate welding from both the sides and Oil Chalk test to be witnessed
@ minimum of 4 hours holding time.
To ensure that the joints to be tested must be free of all foreign matter such as
grease, dust, paint etc.
To witness that there are no leaks in bottom plate welding and bottom sketch to
annular welding by vacuum box testing performance.
To conduct the testing of roof plate by applying internal pressure in the tank not
exceeding the Wt of roof plate.
JULY 2011 TO NOVEMBER 2011: GULF CONSOLIDATED CONTRACTORS CO.LTD,
SAUDI ARABIA.
Appointed as Senior Welding Inspector for Ras-Tanura cross country pipe line.
• Conducting Welder’s Performance Qualification Test (WPQT),
• Witness fit-up, In-process & final inspection of weld joints, dimensional and
alignment check on pipe spools during fabrication and erection. Receiving
material inspection, field Quality Control in accordance with Approved Issued
For Construction (IFC) drawings and design specifications.
• Assigned to this project for QC Inspection activities in accordance with approved
Project Quality Plan Procedure (QCP) and Inspection Test Procedure (ITP) for
Piping, Structural and Welding works to the whole scope of the contract of this
project and ensure all welding inspection activities complying to the approved
test procedure & engineering standards and international industry codes.
• Preparing RFI and Coordinates with client representative for the QC
implementation of the Project Quality Plan which covered the phases of
mechanical piping, structural steel & welding works with the applicable industry
Codes & ensure all pertinent QC welding inspection records and Documentation
are in compiled in boxes file for the preparation to hand over to the client.
• Responsible for the implementation on QC activities and
liaise with the Client Representative for the proper
execution and implementation of welding construction
Standards as described in the construction manual of the
project.
• Check the approved WPS & PQR packages prior to start
fabrication of pipes spool and miscellaneous pipes support.
• Inspection for incoming material and review the attached
certificates to ensure it complies to the approved purchase
order and project materials specification.
• Daily weld audit inspection according to the relevant WPS
records.
• Inspection of welding consumables materials to ensure it
complies to the approved WPS & PQR and maintain the
baking records of Low Hydrogen Electrodes.
• Witness pre-heating and post weld heat treatment as per
the specification.
• Visual inspection of bevel angle preparation, joint fit up and
weld visual.
• Coordinate to the Third Party testing Agency technician for the proper
execution of a particular NDT job.
Report directly to the Project Site QC Manager regarding the status of QA/QC activities
including preparation of compilation of all QA/QC Documents.
2006- 2011 SAIPEM Malongo: Appointed for Chevron – GREATER TAKULA AREA
INFRASTRUCTURE De-Bottlenecking project and Wemba project (deck extension in
BBLT) and off shore maintenance. Typically my experience involves upgrade of
Separators, Knockout Drums, Scrubbers & associated interconnecting piping, Bridles &
Trim, plus Structural Deck Extensions and modifications, Off-shore hookup and
Christmas tree fabrication and nozzle orientations, raisers and flow line fabrication, Pig
launch and receiving station fabrication and maintenance etc.
1999 -2005 ASRY (Bahrain) Position: Welding Foreman
Employed in Bahrain, for Magnum Ship Care in ARAB SHIP BUILDING & REPAIR YARD as
Welder and further promoted as WELDER FOREMAN. Fabrication and erection of
decks/ bulkheads/ various stringer levels/ modification of existing tanks & additional
tank construction for expansion as per the Client requirements and by satisfying Codes
& Standards. To conduct & witnessing of Pressure tests, vacuum tests, Hydrostatic
Static tests, Radiography, Ultrasonic, Magnetic particle and DPT with respect to the
degree of inspection required and maintenance / submission of Documentation.
