PROFESSIONAL PROJECT EXPERIENCE... PAGE 2
The project design needed to be scalable to 16 global facilities, and
to include emissions monitoring, environmental, sustainability
management and stakeholder reporting capabilities.
A software solution was deployed that integrated existing & added
individual equipment meters, over 800 wireless operation specific
sensors, existing production monitoring systems, and seven building
BMS systems to produce a single screen view of the operation. An

Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) - Part of Development
team for: "EnergyPlus" - a BIM based construction software
application that models buildings from the ground up, or from existing
CAD/flat line drawings to establish the most efficient operating
structure. Physical building placement, geographical location,
building envelope materials, mechanical equipment sizing, lighting,
and potential occupancy are woven into a program that will provide
detailed daily/monthly/yearly operating costs for all utilities based
on prevailing rates, and provide LEED and Energy Star score
calculations. Existing building retrofits can be calculated scored,
and load balanced to insure maximum efficiency.
Developed the business model for ASHRAE, DOE, and OEM equipment
developers to contribute detailed CAD drawings and tested performance
characteristics of available mechanical equipment to be entered into
the EnergyPlus Library. This would provide architects and developers
the most advanced energy efficient equipment available.
BUPA Healthcare - The project consisted of providing with a
comprehensive baseline report of all IT infrastructure components and
their relationship to business services across 18 global data center
sites, providing a clear understanding of Run and Change costs,
establish sufficient cost granularity to determine data centre and
select Business Service costs, and physically consolidating the DC's
to four sites. Part of the initial assessments was to benchmark BUPA
data usage, and occupied space to their sector peers.
Each individual market was analyzed based on the key needs of BUPA's
clients, and support peripherals such as storage, backup and archive costs
were validated. Project valuation: $3.2 million, Cost savings $2.3
million/year
