Career Overview
At present I am a Night Shift Supervisor for the Allscripts Data Center for
the North Shore/LIJ hospitals. Areas of expertise include managing of
direct reports to perform operational support for the Data Center
environmental, Network support, PC/Servers support and applications.
Manage the NOC operation that performs the basic Network and PC/Server
functions to support the client's needs. If any escalations need to be
taken place I am involved in all the bridge calls to obtain a resolution
for any Infrastructure or application issues. Also have on hands
experience in all the following areas. Responsible for maintaining all
procedure manuals for mainframe, AS400, Network, PC/Servers, ARCSERVE

Data Center Manager

Responsible for the management, maintenance and security of the entire
company's Data Center that supported 130 stores in the US, Canada, Mexico &
Puerto Rico. Supervised and provided direction to direct reports regarding
Environmental, Mainframe (VSE/ESA version 4.3), AS400, Network, PC/Servers
and Help Desk. Provided daily support to ensure direct reports had
necessary tools to perform tasks efficiently. All scheduling, testing and
implementation of hardware and software was run through the Data Center
Manager. Responsible for managing of the three shifts that ran the
entire daily, weekly and monthly processes from Monday thru Friday, also
responsible for the weekend shifts and on-call 24/7. All production and
testing was run on the VSE/ESA system, AS400 & PC/Servers. Responsible for
all online applications to meet all SLA supplied by the business in
mainframe and PC/Server systems.
Accomplishments
Implemented with systems a scheduling package called BIM-FAQS scheduler and
automated all mainframe batch jobs, PC Functions and Server Apps. Cut
batch window and online downtimes from 6 hours to 3.5 hours to improve on
the SLA for when the online systems come up.
With the help of the Systems Group converted all tape datasets to the
CSI EPIC Disk Management system, saving the company the cost of media.
Only tapes being used are offsite backups to Iron Mountain for disaster
recovery on the VSE/ESA system, AS400 systems and the entire server backups
run on ARCSERVE.
Collaborated with the application group to convert all printed reports
to be sent electronically, saving the company $75,000 in printer
maintenance.
Changed the sprinkler system in the Tele/LAN room and converted to a
FM200 fire suppression system with the help of the HVAC and Fire
suppression vendors.
