I have worked in the medical field since 2001 and in Adminstration since 1997. I'm interested in adminstrative
work because it keeps me very busy and it's a great feeling to be able to meet deadlines.
WORK EXPERIENCE
Clerk-Experienced Level
Contra Costa Regional Medical Center - Martinez, CA - June 2013 to Present
Patient registration in the emergency room. I interview patients gathering insurance and demographics and
obtain signatures for consent of treatment. Making sure patient information is current and accurate is a must.
Once patient registration is complete and they been triaged, we ask that patient please have a seat in the
waiting room and wait to hear their named called. I then scan documents that have been signed by the patient,
into the document section in EPIC. I also float to admissions when I'm needed. Admissions consist of direct
admits and other inpatient services. Job duties include obtaining signatures for medicare. When the floors/
departments (ICU/IMCU/PES/LND) call, I bring them the labels they need as well as making changes to the
admit if needed.

I worked in the emergency room in patients registration. Patients would arrive and I would interview patients
and get demographics, update if needed and input their insurance information. I would collect the patience
co pay at time of service if one was due. All signatures obtain, again, those documents were to be scanned
into EPIC.

St. Lukes Hospital - San Francisco, CA - April 2008 to September 2011
Patient registration for both inpatient and outpatient services. Duties were to interview patients making sure
their demographics were correct and up to date. I worked in the emergency room and the lab. The emergency
room, patient would arrive, I would interview patients, verify demographics, obtain signatures, scan into our
computer system and collect co pays. After registration complete, I would place a wristband on patient and
they would wait to be called by the triage nurse.

I was the front desk clerk and office assistant. I greeted patients as they would arrive. Before patients
appointment I was to prep their charts for the physicians, making sure all forms we complete. I scheduled
appointments for next visit and collected co pays as well. I also did the bookkeeping for the clinic making sure
everything was accounted for. Payroll was also included in my duties.

Kaiser Permanente AACC (callcenter) - Vallejo, CA - June 2001 to May 2006
Inbound call center scheduling appointment for members of Kaiser. Call would come in and I would introduce
myself by name and department. Before continuing the call I would then verify to whom I was speaking with.
I would verify date of birth, name, address and other demographics. Once verifying, members would tell me
exactly what they were calling for. Should a member want an appointment, I would ask a series of question
listed based on their symptoms then schedule an appointment. If no appointment available, a message to the
physician would be sent via email. Should a member call and only want advice, I would transfer the member
to an advice nurse. Member would be placed on hold then transferred to an advice nurse. I also handled
medication refill request that would also be sent by email to the physicians.
