ACADEMIC PROJECT:
Undergraduate:
Concept and Design of Gauging System of Length of Glow Plugs at Robert
Bosch India Ltd.
Project details: The project work was undertaken with the objective of
decreasing the time and the number of gauges used to gauge the length of
glow plugs. The existing concept was using 24 different gauges. We were
required to establish a single gauging system to gauge the length of 24
different specifications of glow plugs. This was achieved by using IR
sensors and micro processors
Result: The time taken by the operator in the existing design per glow plug
was 30 seconds, and with the new design it was reduced to 6 seconds. The
saving in the cost of gauging system with this design is to the tune of INR
100,000.
Graduate:
Vehicle Ergonomics: Driver Package Evaluation, Controls and Displays
Evaluation, Field of View and Lighting Studies, Entry/Exit and Engine/Trunk
Compartment Evaluations, Analysis and comparison of learning curve in cars.
IC Engines-1: Design of a Coolant heat recovery system for an Automobile IC
engine by making use of TEG (Thermo Electric Generator). TEG's generate
power by making using of temperature difference.
Automotive Integrated Systems (current semester course): Bench Marking and
Product design specification, QFD, Vehicle attributes and cascading
requirements, Business Plan Development.
IC Engines-2 (current semester course): Diesel Engine simulation
PROFESSIONAL TRAINING:
. Attended BCAT (Basic course in automobile technology) on Volvo Eicher
Commercial Vehicles conducted by NIE-Volvo-Eicher, centre for
automobile technology, Mysore. It included the complete disassembling
and assembling of a Volvo Eicher truck engine.
. Trained in Basics and Fundamentals of welding Fixture Design
CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:
. Event coordinator for the techno cultural fest at BIT in 2009 and 2010
. Certified with basic German language (Level A1) from Max Muller Bhavan
in April 2013.
