Project assigned at: Avis Budget Group, Parsippany, NJ
June 2007-January 2010, Senior Systems Consultant
Project: Yield Management System
. Application is a decision making system designed to predict and control
supply and demand of product and services in the Avis Budget car rental
environment. The purpose of controlling and predicting is to maximize the
revenue and profits.
. Various Analytical Tools, Decision Models, Market Strategies and
Mathematical techniques are developed to Control/Optimize. Data is input
and routed for Future Demand Forecasting and used as an input to the
optimization model. The math solution is then translated as a set of
recommendations for Yield actions.
. Designed, analyzed, developed and managed several high profiled
applications as part of the Yield system.
. Worked directly with the business users to support their short-term and
long term application goals.
. This framework of application was developed using Sybase, PB and C on a
time sensitive Unix batch system.
Alliance Bernstein, Secaucus, NJ
Apr 2006-May 2007, Senior Systems Consultant
Project: Commission Feed Data System
Created sophisticated data feeds from a number of independent systems and
consolidated the data into one mater repository.
. Various DTS Packages and database utilities were used to allow the data
processing across the disjoint Sybase and SQL Server systems.
Processed the Repository data to generate the commissions for the
employees depending on the kind of sales made at regional and global
levels. Complex batches were written for the system to run in sync with
other related systems.
Various monthly and quarterly Commission reports were generated for
meeting different specifications on fly using Crystal Reports 8.5.
Enterprise Financial Solution Inc., NY
Jan 2003 - March 2006, Senior Systems Analyst
Project: BasisPoint
BasisPoint is a fully integrated solution for global investment
firms. It's a portfolio management and investment accounting software
supports each step of the trading process from order processing through
accounting and regulatory reporting. It is designed to perform all
securities investment related functions required by the system's target
market; Domestic, International Asset Managers including Insurance, Banks,
Brokerage, Mutual Funds. BasisPoint includes various modules such as
Portfolio Modeling and Order Processing, Compliance Review, Trading and
FOREX desk, Trade Settlements and Custody Reconciliation, Fund Accounting
(Multi Currency and Multi Basis), Net Asset Valuation, Performance
measurement, Portfolio Trial Balance/General Ledger Interface and Client
Reporting and Data Delivery.
. Responsible for project scheduling, design, development and
implementation of the system using PB starting at version 6.5. Various
advanced datawindow concepts were utilized to establish the frontend
screens.
. Created and maintained the physical and conceptual database models and
generated the database for the application for all major vendors, MS SQL
Server, Oracle and Sybase.
. Write stored procedure, triggers, cursors in MS SQL Server and Sybase.
DTS packages were used extensively while working with SQL Server.
BasisPoint's Web-enabled delivery extends investment and decision support
information to portfolio/fund managers, on-line and real time. The system's
object-oriented technology makes it easy to modify and expand.
. Involved in designing the technical architecture for PowerBuilder to .Net
conversion.
. Created ad-hoc reports using Crystal enterprise.
. Involved in designing and development of browser based .Net phase-II of
the system using C#, ASP.Net, ADO.Net.
Bear Stearns and Co.
May 1999-October 2001, Senior Systems Analyst, Asset Management Group.
. Analyzed, Designed, Developed and Coordinated the automation of business
procedures and Decision support systems using PB 6.5 as a frontend tool
making the business group perform efficiently and in a time saving
manner.
. Worked on a web-based application conversion of the current obsolete
Asset Management Resource system. Re-engineered and essentially created a
new system's object - based design specifications by functional and
business analysis with active user interaction. The business logic is
embedded in a thin-client layer implemented through sophisticated Sybase
Stored procedures accessed via JDBC by the application.
. Developed the Trade Upload System, which is a multi-process batch data
processing application that applies complex business rules and
procedures, manipulates and examines transactional data uploaded from the
data system files. Several batch programs are invoked subjecting the data
to business rules before the resultant transactions are recorded in the
database. A Front end application developed in PB 6.5 can trigger these
trade uploads at the end of the day.
. Developed several utility programs including Unix batches for process
automation that serve as connector interfaces to third party data feeds
as from Bloomberg, Muller and Salomon. These programs were coordinated
for scheduled runs overnight through Autosys batch processing systems for
extracting new files from the incoming feeds, applying business rules to
them and then downloading into several application databases. Others
include batches enabling parallel processing of user programs logging in
for minimal resources and maintaining their inter-dependencies, flat
files data query and search from a user-friendly front-end, data file
encryption, creation of bcp scripts for data transfer, etc.
. Consolidated and implemented an intermediate Dynamic Database Repository
System for capacity upgrade to resolve performance problems related to
event servers, which went slow during heavy database traffic hours under
Sybase environment.
. Designed and developed a Client Reporting System that provides the
business user with analysis and monitoring of portfolio and securities
holdings for monthly and quarterly data using Crystal Reports tool.
Salomon Smith Barney, NY
Sep 97-May 1999, Systems Consultant
Project: CORE Financial Consultant (FC) Compensation System
FC Compensation is a process of earning compensation by a Financial
Consultant (FC) based on the accumulation of client assets. Client assets
are build over time when company through FC services suits the different
needs of clients through a broadly diversified line of products and
financial services provided based on quality of service rendered to clients
and in doing so build asset over time and a personal financial opportunity
for the FCs. The critical FC Maintenance System sets up FCs and maintains
the existing ones such that when an FC is hired, the new hire information
is send to FC Comp operations upon receipt of which Employee section would
deal with FC demographics information and assign FC no.'s to them. The
previous system (NCS) was an IDMS based system which was replaced by this
DB2 based CORE(CCS) system. As per the migration plan from old to new
system, the old NCS was turned off module by module and replaced by
corresponding functionality being turned ON in CORE. The CORE phase I was
developed to maintain not only new DB2 database but also keep the old
IDMS database in sync. PowerBuilder does not interact with IDMS database so
the maintenance of information on non-relational IDMS was done via DB2
Stored Procedures.
. Developed FC Maintenance, House Maintenance and Department Maintenance
modules of phase I of CORE Financial Consultant (FC) Compensation System
in PB 5.0.
. Worked on Phase II of the CORE System which is fully DB2 based.
. Extensive use of NVO's, RPC's PFC's and customized PFE's handling multi-
user environment and concurrency issues. Also, maintained and developed
various utility programs including batch programs for the system.
Merrill Lynch
May 97-Sep 97, Systems Consultant
Project: Merrill Lynch Fund Performance Application
The system will provide extensive features like Regulatory reporting and
Performance that will include Performance indicators and maintaining
Performance models and Reinvestment prices.
. Worked on the development of Merrill Lynch Fund Performance. The system
will provide Portfolio details and maintenance for funds including
details like Portfolio characteristics, policies and Distribution
schedule management.
. Advanced PB features such as Class User objects, Dynamic SQL in different
formats for querying, Windows SDK functions, Various PFC services, Object-
oriented features like Polymorphism and inheritance, etc were extensively
used. Created various test routines in Sybase System 10/11 that included
writing complex Stored Procedures, Triggers and Cursors.
NIIT Ltd.
Nov 95-July 96, Systems Analyst, Global Software Solutions division
Analyzed, Designed and developed the Capital Purchase Sanction System. The
system took care of the purchase activities, which take place to procure
items of various natures from external and internal resources. All the
activities of a CPS transaction were automated using the concept of
workflow technology implemented with WorkMan tools and C environment.
