Individuals and Children for the State of Texas. Served as peer trainer from 2004-2007.

Participated in continual education trainings. Required a working knowledge of the Texas

Family Code. A member of the pilot program for the Telework Program which was initiated at

the end of 2013.

Counseled graduates of an In Prison Treatment Program. This initiative was designed by Ann

Richards to reduce individual returns to prison. This was both individual and group

counseling.

Worked as both counselor and case manager in a dual diagnosed unit where individuals

suffered co-morbid substance abuse and mental illness.

Worked in an In Patient Substance Abuse Program where women were allowed to have

their children with them during treatment. The program was 9 months long. This allowed

me to interact with both mother and children. The children were often victims of

abuse/neglect. My duties involved informal counseling, monitoring medications and

participation in some off property activities.

Worked with women who were addicted to substances in a half way house setting. I was

involved in individual counseling and group facilitation with the women .These women

were victims of child abuse, domestic violence and self abuse.

Assisted in the shelter's daycare and worked individually with the adult residents of the

facility.

Cornerstone Inc.

Cornerstone Inc. is a group of 5 halfway houses located in San Antonio. The houses are

transitional settings where the men and women learn to live outside of prison. I participated

in intakes, groups, trainings and job searches for the residents.
