suffered co-morbid substance abuse and mental illness.

Worked in an In Patient Substance Abuse Program where women were allowed to have

their children with them during treatment. The program was 9 months long. This allowed

me to interact with both mother and children. The children were often victims of

abuse/neglect. My duties involved informal counseling, monitoring medications and

participation in some off property activities.

Worked with women who were addicted to substances in a half way house setting. I was

involved in individual counseling and group facilitation with the women .These women

were victims of child abuse, domestic violence and self abuse.

facility.

Cornerstone Inc.

Cornerstone Inc. is a group of 5 halfway houses located in San Antonio. The houses are

transitional settings where the men and women learn to live outside of prison. I participated

in intakes, groups, trainings and job searches for the residents.
