Worked with Mills, Steel Warehouses and Other Suppliers to Determine Timing and Availability of Materials and

Supplies. Added Value to the Procurement and Sourcing Process Through Becoming a Subject Matter Expert. Studied

the capabilities of all steel mills on the North American continent and leveraged each mill “sweet spot” of production to

make the company a desirable customer. Negotiated long term, mutually beneficial price and volume agreements.

IMPACT: Allowed steel mills to produce at capacity; established value added services for a full range of products.

Implemented a Cost Effective Strategy to Reduce Excess Inventory. Launched an internal surplus removal program,

which used surplus inventory at key locations to replenish the normal requirements of other internal locations.

Coordinated the surplus management process. Worked with both sales and purchasing departments to eliminate

obsolete, de listed and slow moving inventory items. IMPACT: Achieved a Gross Margin Return on Investment (GMROI)

+ $120 million.

Optimized Materials Usage: Enhanced Negotiation Leverage and Reduced Cost. Implemented a strategy focuses on

reducing costs through the consolidation of 3 fabrication facilities. IMPACT: Reduced overall steel pricing by +/ 10%

thereby reducing approx. 2% total cost of production to the company; reduced complexity, lowered part design cost;

segmented suppliers.
