Project Details
Academic project
DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF RST CONTROLLER BASED ON MULTIPLE MODEL
APPROACH FOR A NON-LINEAR SYSTEM
• The process loop chosen in the project work is the level process loop which is available in a
MIMO system of our laboratory. In order to improve upon the quality of the product and to
achieve better plant operation there is a need for development of perfect controllers. The UD RLS
algorithm is used to obtain the model which is closely matches with the real time data. It is based
on recursive least squares procedures and U-D factorization. The digital filters R and S are
designed in order to achieve the desired regulation performance, and the digital filter is designed
afterwards in order to achieve the desired tracking performance. The RST controller using various
methods like pole placement, model following, etc., are designed. RST2 controller gives better
performance, ie lesser overshoot, lesser settling time and also it closely matches the reference
model.
Final year project in UG
MODELLING AND COMPENSATION OF CONTROL VALVE STICTION
• The project describes a method which is a structurally simple and straight forward approach for
modeling valve stiction. The model has parameters that can be directly related to plant data and
this produces the same behavior as the physical model. Also there two techniques for the
compensation of stiction such as knocker and feedback compensator are used. Both closed loop
and open loop results have been taken in MATLAB/Simulink environment in the studies of
stiction related control loop problems.
