standard science curriculum (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Environmental Science).
SCHWEITZER & CROSSON, Horsham, PA. 2006-2009 Sales Territory Manager
Maintained customer service/sales function for customers throughout mid-Atlantic region for distributor of major
coatings equipment. Provided new equipment expertise and repair capabilities for powder coating systems and liquid
paint/stain systems from various vendors, including Nordson, ITW/GEMA, and GRACO.
Established new customers and strengthened existing business in the region.
Assisted customer start-ups with new equipment, including installation parameter management and optimization
of various systems operating concurrently.
Accomplishments: Through partnerships with Nordson and strategic planning with several customers, we were able
to drastically cut color change times and therefore increase production rates by 20-30%.
AKZO NOBEL/ROHM AND HAAS POWDER COATINGS, Reading, PA. 2000-2003 Applications Engineer
Customer assistance, on-site and plant lab environments, focusing on improving coating quality, while optimizing
efficiency and economics. Technical service and product recommendations to insure utilization of appropriate
products.
Trained coating line supervisors in optimal methods of application for their process conditions.
Conducted complete system audits, including equipment and energy usage in order to decrease overall costs.
Published detailed reports of observations and testing to assist customers in making appropriate adjustments to
improve their operation efficiency and long-term performance, while maintaining highest safety goals.
Accomplishments: Conducted complete system audits at six major clients over the span of two years which

introduced new powder coating grades onto their lines and allowed them to increase efficiency and save up to 30% in
energy costs, line down time, and quality problems. Coordination with Nordson and ITW/GEMA along with our in-
house formulation group also resulted in strong sales growth and astounding customer loyalty (nearly 90% return
business year after year for our major customer base).
PROGUARD COATINGS, Denver, PA 2004-2005 Applications Engineer
Optimization of various UV curable ink formulations for use on glass bottles. Worked with R & D formulators and
customers to yield acceptable appearance/adhesion/cure results. Customer production trials monitored to ensure
adequate scale-up. Technical support for UV floor coatings using prototype application equipment.
Accomplishments: Established lab protocol and test methods for UV Floor coatings and worked with resin suppliers
to overcome major cure and appearance issues. This yielded a superior product that could be proven with wear and
abrasion data as well as optical clarity and color improvements.
KEYSTONE COATINGS, Lancaster, PA 2005 Coating Line Supervisor
Supervision of a high speed powder coating line specializing in agricultural, automotive, and general industrial steel
parts. Zinc-rich powder primer booth and top-coat booth optimized for high rack density and coating quality.
Accomplishments: Improved robotic control of spray booth (top coat) Nordson system to nearly eliminate the need
for any touch-up operations for most part configurations. Also worked more closely with pretreatment chemical
suppliers to minimize downtime due to inadequate cleaning and rinsing.
ARKEMA/ ELF ATOCHEM, Birdsboro & King of Prussia, PA 1990-2000 Technical Service Engineer
Project management of Kynar co-extrusion, high purity water pipe and electrical wire and cable uses for PVDF and
Nylon.
Major projects with UL and Mohawk CDT to develop and test plenum data cable compounds.
Coordinated testing protocol and evaluation methods regarding semi-conductor processing industry.
Represented Elf ATO on ASTM subcommittee D-20 for Polyamides and F-17 Fluoropolymer Pipes.
Involved with safety initiatives at the plant, including HAZMAT and waste reduction efforts.
Powders Development Chemist
Applications laboratory management and projects for Rilsan Nylon 11 coatings and Platamid/Platherm hot-melts.
Coordinated lab resources, analytical equipment, and personnel to support sales and marketing strategic
objectives.
Performed research in combining and optimizing properties of blended PVDF/Nylon powder coatings and
rotomolding feedstock (two patents issued).
Accomplishments: Obtained UL-94 V-0 rating for Kynar and Kynar Flex cable plenum jacket compounds.
Established a test method in conjunction with the French R&D group and Kentucky QC team to adequately evaluate
performance of PVDF formulations in semi-conductor grade water pipes in Switzerland and US.
Partnered with major customer for Nylon/Polyester paste printing process for hot melt adhesives formulations with
excellent printing quality using DOE in Birdsboro, PA and Bonn, Germany. Set up microscopy lab with powder shape
analysis equipment and size distribution analyzer to evaluate correlations between powder production methods and
how spherical the resulting powders (fluidizations characteristics) could be quantified.
