Mentored by Renzo Castiglioni (former art director of Armani in New York
in the seventies/eighties), I was asked to start a graphic design department
within the studio. In four years it grew from one person, working with
existing clientele, to a team of 5 designers, managing its own clients.
Goman produces bathroom safety products and accessories for disabled
aids.We designed a full VI, catalogues and web presence. The sells increased
exponentially and Goman is now an award winning company and one of the
European leaders of its sector.
2001-2002

While I was doing my master in Graphic and Colour Design in collaboration
with Gilera and Rossignol, I was also working on some freelance projects.

My time as senior art director was splitted between BC, working on
visual identities and advertising, and NMB the digital arm of the agency,
working on websites and portals. The packaging design for Feletti, the
catalogues and national advertising campaigns for Domino help them
establishing a leaders’ presence within their markets.
2004-2006
DESIGN DIRECTOR

Landed in Shanghai, I almost immediately joined an australian boutique
hotshop: REDdot. As Design Director I was in charge to manage and mentor
a team of 8 fulltime designers and art directors, working on a wide variety of
projects: advertising, visual identities, websites, editorial.
The Clubmed honeymoon campaign, published on MediaMagazine,
created a lovely buzz in China, and ended with a good selling success.
The Agency won the international awards for the best postcard design for
two years in a row; advertising for Bacardi and Hilton has also been
published on MediaMagazine Asia.
2006-2008
SENIOR ART DIRECTOR
(project based) in INTERBRAND +freelance - Shanghai
Key Clients: Vanke / Tsindao / Siemens / Infocus / Trinasolar
Interbrand asked to conceptualize cutting edge advertising and catalogues
for Vanke and unique packaging solutions for Tsindao. Meanwhile I was
involved in designing environmental and info-graphics for the Siemens
Museum in Shanghai.
2007-2008
ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
(project based) in IDENTICA - Shanghai
Key Clients: Watson / Identica
In charge of a team of 10 designers, managing creative resources
and responsible to the standard of all creative work.
Most of the work was related with new lines of packaging and labels
for Watson, and the redesign of the agency’s own visual identity.
2008-2009
ASSOCIATE CREATIVE DIRECTOR
in Ortus Group Eight - Shanghai
Key Clients: Rockbund (RockfellerGroup) /Guocoland / Zeta Spa
Directing and managing a tailor-made team to work on visual
communication and advertising for high-end properties.
Guocoland was developing “Guoson Centre”, two integrated project (Beijing /
Shanghai) consisting of Mall, Hotel, Commercial & Residential entities.
The work here was to advertise a distinctive shopping, business and enter-
tainment hub, an aspired home located in the major cities of China, through
offline medias (printed ads / brochures / floorplans / collaterals) and websites.
Guoson Centre have garnered the Asia Pacific International Property Awards
in association with Bloomberg Television 2010 for respectively, the "Best
Mixed Use Development China", the "Best Mixed Use Development Asia
Pacific" and also the "Best International Mixed-use Development".
2009-2014
GROUP CREATIVE DIRECTOR
in Ortus Group - Shanghai

As Group Creative Director, my job was to manage and mentor 2 teams of
designers and art directors, to follow and supervise all aspects, resources
and quality of the design works, which included Advertising, Visual Commu-
nication, Digital (web+apps), PR & Events, Integrated Marketing. Part of the
duty was also to select and hire new talents for the creative department,
and to train the account department in the briefing process.
In the first 2 years the profit of the agency jumped at +12%. Also, Starbucks
and Coca-Cola Company became agency’s clients.
The Coca-Cola 3 days event/conference in Sanya, required a massive amount
of energy to integrate successfully stage design, interior design, environ-
mental design and infographics, a specific full visual identity, theatrical
scripts, costumes and uniform design, 3D animations, movie productions,
products and gadgets design, award design and a unique iOs App.
Muhtar Kent (global CEO of the company), present at the conference,
commented:“the best Coke event in Asia”
2014-2015
CREATIVE / ART DIRECTOR / LECTURER

Back in Shanghai in September, I started working as freelance
for some personal clients; I also accepted a position as teacher for the
courses of “graphic design” and “color theory and creative expression”
at ShiSu, preparing Chinese students to study abroad (Istituto Marangoni,
Milan Polytechnic, Central Saint Martins, Royal College of Art, etc).

PASSIONS
In Italy, I was part of a collective artist, com-
bining performing arts together with audio -
video installations. We perform in various arts
festivals as well as contemporary art galler-
ies. As solo artist, I did some exibitions on
visual arts and mixed techniques paintings.
I’m also a music composer and I play key-
boards and guitar under the name of, doing ambient / post-rock /
shoegaze compositions.
I’m now part of a duo - -,
working on an audio-video live performance
on medieval music and paintings.
