Project Description:
Card Scheme 3 Project:
“Card Scheme” denotes the card numbering scheme that determines the card numbers assigned to Embosser records
associated with an account. For Card Scheme 3, account numbers and Card Numbers are unique. Currently in CRS other
than Costco all other portfolios are with Card Scheme 0 (Non-relationship account in which account number and card
numbers are same).
This project covers the functional and technical design changes required in the system to make sure that the code is card
scheme 3 compliant; and the basic CMS functionalities specific to Card scheme 3 are available. This will make the system
ready (with some development effort) for new portfolios with Card Scheme 3 to be implemented in CRS platform, in
future.
Long Term Cell Phone Dialing Strategy Project:
The legacy COF card area has initiated a project to identify cardholder phone numbers that are cell/mobile phones. The
goal is to identify whether or not the number belongs to the cardholder in order to use it for collections activity.
With this project RAD is impacted for Third Party validation Process. In this process RAD will Extract Data for accounts
which are coming from CTA and then after applying qualification criteria these account will be sent to third party for
Validation i.e. Neustar.
Direct Merchant Conversion:
Capital One shall convert eligible Metris customer data to Capital One's collection tools as part of the overall HSBC -
Metris conversion project.
Specifically, Capital One shall convert customers' data to the debt management tool (3PDM), Peregrin, through a one-time
only conversion window scheduled for April 2014. The customer's rates through FDR shall be maintained at Capital One
and customers should see little to no impact on their current workout plans.
Once converted, former CRS customers shall be flagged in Capital One systems and their account history shall be
available for agents to view. The terms and conditions for the collections accounts shall also be treated the same as
Capital One legacy customers' accounts. CRS RAD will send the Workout program data file include historical and active
workout data for customers to DDE on the day of conversion. DDE process will do the file and field validation and will
publish the clean file. The Workout program clean file will be used to create the tickler file which will be sent to Peregrin.
Workout program file along with CDW tables (to extract account related information) will be used to create conversion
refresh file and send to Peregrin. After sending the one-time conversion refresh and tickler file, Peregrin will send four
conversion decision files as per BAU layout and name. These files will be used to fulfill the required actions as it happens
today in the BAU code.

Capital One Cards Services – Rapid Application Development (RAD) October 2012 – January 2014
CAPITAL ONE, Capgemini,
Onsite Coordinator/Lead Mettawa, IL, USA
Project Description:
As part of acquiring HSBC’s North America cards business, Capital One Finance signed many Transition Service
Agreements (TSA) with HSBC to provide continued connections such as services, operations and technology
infrastructure to support the acquired card business until it is integrated with legacy Capital One cards system. These
TSAs also cover the services Capital One Finance would be providing to HSBC to support parts of their cards business
5
which was not acquired by Capital One. These are temporary agreements until both HSBC and Capital One can achieve
full separation in all aspects such as services, operations and technology infrastructure. These separations are planned in
phased manner in regular releases. All the TSAs are to be completed by Q2 2014.
RMS Migration to RECAP Project:
Recovery Management System (RMS) is a system provided by the vendor Fair Isaac to house and process delinquent
accounts that become delinquent over an extended period of time due to non-payment of credit card bills and later on
making them charge off. This system also manages the link between agencies, attorneys, internal work flow, bankruptcy
tracking, deceased tracking, internal recoveries and reporting to recover the pending payments from the customers after
the internal collection team tries to collect the debt and fails to do so.
RMS is under a TSA and needs to be exited before the expiry in Q2 2014. As part of the TSA exit strategy Capital One
decided to migrate the recovery processing from RMS to RECAP system which is the recovery system used by Capital
One for its legacy credit card recovery processing. The scope of the project is to
• Execute COF exit of all collection & recovery activity through the RMS platform used by HSBC
• Manage migration off and decommission of the RMS platform for both IT and related operational elements
related to collection and recovery activities
The TSA Exit for RMS includes (but not limited to)
• Capability gap investment from RMS to RECAP systems and processes.
• Consumption of credit card portfolios converted away from HSBC systems or remaining but supported through
RMS
• Archival / retention of required data

TFS (Taxpayer Financial Services) is a card portfolio which Capital One Finance did not buy from HSBC as part of card
acquisition. Capital One is servicing these accounts on behalf of HSBC in WHIRL system, which Capital One acquired,
under a reverse TSA with HSBC. As part of the TSA exit, there is a need for HSBC to remove the TFS portfolio from the
WHIRL system onto a system owner/supported by HSBC for continued operational and financial support.
The scope of the project is to Transfer all TFS accounts onto an HSBC supported system, including the conversion of the
data, management of the data and supporting feeds and interfaces, as well as establishing operational and finance
reporting, training and administration.

HSBC Cards Services – System For New Account Processing (SNAP) and
Credit Decision Management (CDM) December 2009 – Feburary 2011
Project Lead HSBC, Capgemini, Pune, India
Project Description:
ONE HSBC Card Project:
The biggest project (200MM) for the team with an average of 12 associates translating the Business Requirements to
the Technical Solution.
One HSBC is focused on having a single framework across HSBC applications with common code base (global) and
minimal regional layer codes. This would be cost efficient for the application maintenance and enhancements.
K-Mart Loyalty Pre-Approval project:
This project is to provide an ability to HSBC bank to take a fresh look to review Citibank's turndowns and extend pre-
9
approved offers to qualified customers. Currently HSBC has a pre-screen of one second look application process with
Kmart. Kmart is working closely with Citibank to set up a pre-approval of one process to extend credit offers to
customers enrolling in the Kmart loyalty program. The objective of this is given as follows –
Increase the ability to offer credit at Kmart locations through the Kmart Loyalty program.
When a customer enrolls in the Kmart loyalty system, Kmart will send the customer’s information to
Citibank for a first look pre-approval.
If the Kmart loyalty customer does not meet the Citibank criteria, HSBC has the opportunity to offer
credit during the loyalty program enrolment process.
RAPUP Database integration:
CDM (Credit Decision Management) is the originations system for bank cards (BC) and SNAP (System New
accounts processing) is the origination system for private label credit cards (PLCC). Before the project was
implemented SNAP and CDM were using two different RAPUP D/B based on the application (PLCC or Bankcard)
that is processed and the MAGNUM Components were separately integrated in the SNAP and CDM regions.
The objective of this project is to make single data elements in Legacy Card Services
