WORK EXPERIENCE
AUO Optical Electronic Company Taiwan
Process Engineer and Project Leader (Metal Compound Department) Aug 2009 –Jul 2012
• Responsible for set up of new CVD and PVD metal coating fabrication production line (NPI), including
Molybdenum, Titanium, Zinc, Tungsten Carbide, and Iron, and creating master schedule while maintaining
material availability in MRP system and considering capacity planning and leveling in each time phase in
SAP; Saved cost with existing hardware by 20%($2M).
• Led a team consisting of 7 engineers to achieve the productivity improvement project through DMAIC
strategy; reduced the inventory stock for raw material and scrapped products, and increased revenue by 10%
($10,000/month).
• Accomplished a Lean and JIT (Just In Time) process with value stream mapping (VSM) in a casting and
melting production line with lead-time, value added time and process time calculation; Simplified process,
removed non-value added actions and lowered the BOM (Bill Of Material) Cost by 3%.
• Monitored the production parameter of metal alloy process with SPC chart while issuing daily production plan.
STUDENT INTERN & CONSULTANT
Whirlpool Corporation
Atlanta, GA
Student Operation Analyst, Improvement Project For Global Supply Chain Network Jan 2014 – Aug 2014
• Depicted Value Stream Mapping for logistics operation and improved volume utilization for ocean
transportation containers though using optimization software (Cube Master. MATLAB); cut cost for
truck transportation operation, warehouse handling cost by ($1.8M).
• Collected the demand data from historical shipment data using statistical tools (Minitab) and drew
weekly demand trend chart by manufacturer sites and ocean lanes for 862 kinds of products; improved
the data visibility and forecasting accuracy up to 3% in APO /SAP.
Recall Corporation Atlanta, GA
Student Consultant, Warehouse and Material Flow Optimization Project Aug 2013 – Dec 2013
• Analyzed five years’ data using MySQL; Categorized customers based on SKUs’ movement
frequency and thus eliminated motion waste, waiting time and over-processing time for retrieving
operation by placing fast moving cartons in more convenient locations, achieving a 12% travel
distance reduction.
• Optimized lane depth that increases storage capacity by at least 9% via different arrangement of
various racks.
EDUCATION
• Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA U.S.A. Aug 2013 –Aug 2014
Master of Science in Supply Chain Engineering
Relevant courses: Operations Research, Freight Transportation, Supply Chain Design, Distribution and Warehousing.
• National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, Taiwan Sep 2001 –Aug 2005
Master and Bachelor of Chemical Engineering (Specialized in PVD and CVD Techniques for Metal Compound)
