Volunteering experience
R ancho Margot in Costa Rica February 2014 – March 2014
Rancho Margot is a highly acclaimed hotel/organic ranch in the Arenal rainforest of Costa Rica. The ranch has achieved a negative
carbon footprint by raising the food for the kitchen, turning the waste into methane for cooking, and powering the ranch with its
own hydroelectricity. Here I was involved with numerous different tasks around the ranch but spent most time in the garden
learning organic farming methods. My engineering skills were put to use to achieve the highest and healthiest yields.
