I am currently employed with Sears Holdings Corporation at the Shillington, PA Kmart department store. I

have held a position with the corporation for seven years. My duties include, but are not solely limited to,

overseeing and maintaining the entire footwear department and stockroom, working directly with the store

and district managers, executing seasonal, weekly and daily layout changes, training part-time associates,

providing outstanding customer assistance, meeting sales goals, and assisting in various departments when

needed.

My overall objective is to obtain a position in the psychology field. I will be graduating with a BA in Psychology

from Pennsylvania State University in May. I have been accepted to the MA in Counseling Psychology

program at Rosemont College. As I obtain a position within the psychology field, I will take pride in exhibiting

competence, compassion, honesty, integrity, and confidentiality because they are important in any realm of

life. I intend to contribute my sincerest quest for knowledge, my calling to help others, and my enthusiasm,

coupled with my determination to succeed in the professional field.

Since the age of 14, I have been volunteering my time at the Islamic Center of Reading Sunday school.

Throughout the years, I have encountered many children that have had developmental and behavioral

problems. Through my psychology courses, I have been able to successfully assist children with behavioral

problems and developmental setbacks. Along with assisting the children, I have had the privilege to work

directly with parents. With parental support coupled with my psychological understandings, I have had many

children of the Islamic center successfully advance through the levels. I have learned the importance of

childhood and adolescent development through my 12 years of volunteering at the Islamic Center of Reading

Sunday school. My yearning and enthusiasm to help children has been my driving force to become counseling

psychologist.
