Responsible for all the manufacturing operations, maintenance, planning,

logistics, warehousing, master scheduling, import/ export, and inventory

control areas for this site. Furthermore, the application of "lean

concepts" with the goal to improve "throughput time", customer

satisfaction, customers delivery performance, optimizing customers lead

time, inventory turns and efficiencies. For this purpose, concepts such as

heijunka (line balancing) kan ban (pull systems), yokoten (deploying good

practices among the entire site), one piece flow, etc. were applied.

Key achievements: Implementation of lean initiatives among the site

improving KPI's. (Inventory, WIP, P&L, OTD, etc.)

Supply Chain Director

November 2006- August 2011

Lancermex, S.A. de C.V.

Responsible for all the supply chain initiatives to optimize the total

product "throughput time" utilizing for this lean concepts such as kan ban,

heijunka, gemba, yokoten, etc. extending the initiatives mentioned before

to external suppliers in order to "streamline" the supply chain process. As

part of this "lean journey", the legacy systems were replaced by up to date

ERP software (Microsoft Dynamic) supporting "visual management systems"

used by the lean enterprise, optimizing manufacturing processes and

improving Customer deliveries, reaction time as well as better transfer

prices.

Key achievements: Reduce total throughput time from 15 days to 5 days

average. Successful ERP software (DAX) implementation and lean initiatives

among all the supply chain; as a result, raw materials inventory reductions

(approximately 30%), customer OTD (98% on time) and improving customer

fulfillment performance (FG's availability) above 95%.

Plastic Omnium Auto Exteriores, S.A. de C.V. (POAE)

Manufacturer of Automotive Plastic Parts (Tier 1)

Responsible for the implementation of a new ERP Software and lean

manufacturing supply chain processes among all the POAE Group in Mexico

with initiatives obtained internally (sharing between POAE Mexico Sites)

and/or from the rest of the POAE Supply Chain Organizations Worldwide.

Supervised the material flows from suppliers to the sites and from the

sites to the end OEM auto assembly in order to identify areas of

opportunity to stream line the flows (cash, materials, documents, time,

etc.) sharing "Best Supply Chain Practices" from other sites in POAE Mexico

and worldwide.

Key achievements: implementation of the ERP system (SAP) at the POAE Mexico

operations without any customer supply interruption. Custom Broker services

were centralized, reducing with this custom broker fees (around 10% of the

previous Custom Brokers fees) maintaining better controls. Initiated lean

supply chain activities to maintain and control inventory variability

between +/- 5% (two POAE sites). Supply chain coordinator for all sites to

maintain the ISO TS16949 certification. Inventory turns (19 turns/year) at

two POAE sites. Deployment of another type of Supply Chain initiatives.

Materials/ Supply Chain Manager

August 2000 - January 2003

Cathode ray tubes (CRT s) manufacturer for mid and large screen TV s.

Responsible of "green field start up" for the materials flow from suppliers

to the plant and from the plant to Customers, including logistics,

materials planning, master production scheduling, production control,

customs clearance process, supply chain strategies, warehousing and

distribution. Sales/ production plans, inventory reports, finished products

reports, transportation/Customs clearance budget preparations and Master

Production Scheduling.

Key achievements: started operations from 'zero to 3,600 units per day in

the production line (max capacity 4,200 units). Materials delivery

performance of 99.7% on time due to the suppliers kanban delivery setup

strategy, delivery performance to the end Customer of 92.4% and no

production interruption due to lack of materials. Initiated Kaizen and lean

supply chain programs in order to reduce work in process inventory levels.

variance reports, inventory reports, supplier performance reports, product

status reports, budgets preparation and material management reports.

Key achievements: Developed Just in Time/ Kan Ban type of supply strategies

with major suppliers, reducing inventory levels and reaction times.

Materials delivery performance increased to 98% average due to

implementation of these strategies. Materials price variance of around 15%

favorable as an average.

Procurement/ Planning Manager
