Good Shepherd Services (GSS) at Spring Creek Educational Campus is a start up Middle school SONYC Afterschool program in
Brooklyn - East New York area serving 134 students. GSS provides enrichment activities such as Dance, Music, Capoeira, Theatre,
Robotics as well as academic support for students in poverty stricken neighborhoods.
• Work closely with staff to provide training around classroom management, behavior management and youth engagement.
• Hired ten staff members including group leaders, administration and activity instructors.
• Manage ADP Payroll and Department of Youth and Community Development (DYCD) online database to store staff and
student information and attendance.
• Successfully manage the budget of $400,000 based on program needs.
• Maintain onsite documentation for DYCD and the Department of Health to ensure that the program is in compliance with

TRUCE Fitness and Nutrition Center (TFNC) is a non-profit Middle School afterschool program that provides enrichment activities,
academic support, and special events focused around Fitness and Health. TFNC works with over 150 students a year, offering engaging
classes and activities such as dance, music and, cooking, as well as regular tutoring and homework help. Students participate in 60
minutes of physical activity each day and attend a nutrition class once a week.
• Supervised full time team of five including Assistant Director, administrative assistant, program coordinator, educational
coordinator and health coordinator as well as 30 part time staff.
• Supervised academic case management for 100 students.
• Hired, Trained, coached and mentored including tutors, activity instructors, program aides, student’s advocates, and
administration.
• Managed $1 million dollar budget, including participant stipends, special events and community service projects.
• Built productive partnerships with churches, businesses, schools, and other community centers in the Harlem area.

day and year, giving participants the additional time they need to master basic academic skills.

St. Nicholas and Lincoln public housing developments are some of the most challenged areas in Harlem. The Harlem Children’s Zone
took over the housing developments afterschool programs serving over 300 Elementary, Middle and High School Students to offer
enrichment activities such as music, dance, cooking, and karate and community service projects to keep kids safe, off the street and
engaged in the community in a positive way. The program provided academic support, including tutoring, homework help, and
standardized test preparation. Students were also given the opportunity to participate in the Healthy Harlem initiative to ensure regular
physical activity and nutrition education. These programs work to guide children through the difficult transition periods from middle
school to high school to college, as well as help them develop important social and life skills.
