Summary of Qualifications
Several years of experience working in an office, hospital and lab environment utilizing
all my skills I have acquired, which include: Data Entry, transcribing doctors’ orders,
office support system when needed, running reports to update patient status and
interfacing with other departments (lab, x-ray, SCU and the front desk concerning patient
information).
While working in the lab, I received blood, urine and amniotic fluid specimens which had
to be scheduled into the system for specific testing and accurate accountability. This
information given on each specimen was to be checked by a Genetic Counselor for
approval during this process. From this point the samples were forwarded to the
appropriate testing lab. Sometimes specimens had to be repackaged to be shipped to
another lab site. That is where the Amniotic fluid would be tested. All this had to be done
in a timely and orderly manner.
Professional Experience
Genzyme Genetics, Accessioning 1996-2000
I was responsible for receiving and accessing all specimens from clients and other
Genzyme sites. I would check all samples for accuracy and ensure that the samples are
scheduled for the correct test and date following Genetic Counselor approval. Then I
would enter all appropriate data into the LMS system, including all patient information
and testing information. I (part of the accessioning team) would then forward the samples
to the appropriate laboratory for testing.
Marlboro Hospital, Health Unit Coordinator 1992-1996
Responsibilities were; transcribing doctors’ orders into patients’ medical charts for all
nurses and other concerned staff members involved to view. This was done in order to
assure in their best care. I updated patient charts and records and interfaced with
Laboratory, Pharmacy and Radiology concerning new tests ordered. I ran frequent reports
updating patient status for the physicians and nurses. Data entry input to schedule tests
