Built strong relationship with the merchants, Merchants now refer Suppliers to the Replenishment Manager when goals are not being met.
Buyers now routinely involve Replenishment in meetings and in decision making on features. We have support from the Merchants when we need assistance in getting Replenishment inventory in units/dollars in line with financial goals.
Instituted a Seasonal Warehouse program for Insecticide and Rodenticides
Seasonal warehouse program had not been utilized in the past, I worked with the Buyer to try this program during my first season in the department and proved to him it worked. In-stocks, flow of merchandise and returns were 50% better than previous years. Going forward both categories were managed through this program. In the first season on the program (2007) insecticides returns total dollar return was $685,000. In 2008 returns were just over $16,000. This program now runs by Item/DC specific instead of all items across all 42 regional DC’s.
Assisted in training new associates on replenishment systems
Using knowledge from previous departments, I help new associates understand how other areas of the company affect Replenishment and how Replenishment affects other departments of the company. I enjoy the learning of new tools and passing the knowledge to others so they are able to achieve their goals not only for Replenishment and the company, but for themselves and the future.
