Work Experience

09/2009 – Present Washington State University, Composite Lab, Research assistant Pullman, WA

• Design a new shear test method for fiber reinforced laminate. The proposed specimens have the

advantages of easy fabrication and using standard test fixtures.

• Introduce the first analytical closed form solution of the damaged laminate including internal cracks

traction. The proposed model is the only model that can predict the experimental shear modulus

reduction accurately.

• Develop a modified Digital Image Correlation technique for the experimental strain measurement near

the free edges. The proposed technique improved the strain accuracy up to 42%.

• Develop a health monitoring technique in fiber reinforced using Hollow Fibers filled with x-ray

penetrant. This technique holds strict advantages over other methods as it is both quick for

evaluation and economical for implementation in the aircraft structures.

• Develop a continuum damage model for fiber reinforced laminates and create a UMAT subroutine

program in ABAQUS. The proposed model was the first damage model for fiber reinforced laminates

including the shear degradation due to unilateral effect.

10/2006 – 07/2009 Tehran, Iran

Sazeh Consultants Company, Senior Stress Engineer

• Lead stress analysis Engineer: develop engineering instruction for Piping design & stress analysis

• Mechanical Design & Preparation of the Strength Calculation for pressure vessel, towers, tanks and

reactors using ASME Section VIII division 1 and 2.

• The stationary equipment design team leader.

• Technical Vendor Assistance. Review vendor mechanical and welding documents.

• Technical construction assistance in vendor shop.

09/2004 – 07/2008 Power Plant Repair Co., Structural analysis consultant (part time) Karaj,Iran

• Develop a process for bent rotor straightening by hot spot method. The process reduced the

straightening time 70% and increased final accuracy 50%.

• Failure analysis and fatigue life assessment of T240-370 generator rotor fan blades. The analysis

showed the design shortcoming was the main reason of blades failure in three power plants.

10/2005 – 10/2006 Tehran, Iran
