MY ROLE AT INDUS INTERNATIONAL

As part of the second language team, I have worked closely to develop age-

appropriate lesson plans, keeping in mind the needs and interests of the

children. My responsibilities include ensuring effective and authentic

implementation of the MSP,IGCSE AND DP curriculum by providing training,

assistance and guidance to the students. I also regularly interact with

parents through meetings and discussions to apprise them on their

children's development.

My regular duties include facilitating student learning by planning and

providing enriching experiences, opportunities and challenging engagements

which instill in children the love for learning. I have motivated and

guided children to showcase their learning at various forums. I have also

organized appropriate field trips, and established resource persons to

support learning and inquiry. I have developed appropriate rubrics and

other assessment tools, maintain records of documentation as required by

the school and the IB and strive to incorporate good teaching practices in

the classroom.

MY ROLE AT THE SHRI RAM SCHOOL

"Everybody is a Genius. But If You

Judge

a Fish by Its Ability to Climb a Tree,

it

will Live Its Whole Life Believing that

It is Stupid."

The shriram is an inclusive school in every sense of the word. It is here

that I have realized that every child is special. Be it a child with

learning difficulties, physical impairments or gifted children. When we

talk about the HAVES AND THE HAVE NOTS we not just take into account the

bank balance of a person to decide which category he/she fits in but we

also take into consideration that we indeed are blessed to be born with all

our faculties intact. The concept of inclusive education is very important

and I appreciate those schools that allow special students to be a part of

the mainstream schools. Apart from the duties that I executed in my last

job, I learnt how to tackle with such geniuses in my classroom.

Path breaking movies such as TAARE ZAMEEN PAR make us understand that each

child is blessed with a talent. As a facilitator I made my best effort to

figure out that which aspect is the student excelling in so that the very

same talent could be nurtured. I feel blessed to be handling such students

because I get a feeling that I am giving back to the society in my own

special way. It is indeed a pleasure to be dealing with cr me de la cr me

kind of students but the inner happiness and satisfaction that a person

gets by helping these children is unmatched and the feeling goes beyond

words.

Learning in the classroom is not merely exchange of knowledge.

As a facilitator I share a nice thought/ quote with students everyday that

inspires them and makes them think and reflect apart from the bookish

knowledge and extra-curricular so that our society gets well FORMED MINDS

and not just well INFORMED MINDS like the case is mostly these days.
