• Coordinated management and leadership for all aspects of environmental compliance and

permitting for operations at the Army Facility of the Hawthorne Army Depot (HWAD).

• Mentored and coached a staff of 13 team members, with the authority to hire, fire, and change

status of employees. Implemented and guided a budget of $1.5M, overseeing the development of

policies, goals, standards, regulations, contracts, and work with various DoD departments.

• Ensured compliance and adherence to a multitude of diverse permits, including Air permits,

Groundwater, National Pollution Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) permits, stormwater, and

Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (RCRA) permits.

• Collaborated with other managers to lead oversight of the Chemical Laboratory.

• Provided annual training for 500+ people, including new employee and annual refresher including

RCRA, CWA, Asbestos, Radiation, ISO 14001, Chemicals, HAZCOM, Emergency Evacuation,

DOT, Lockout/Tag out, and HAZWOPER.

• Successfully represented HWAD in quarterly, annual, and multi-media environmental inspections

conducted by the Army, EPA, and State of Nevada.

Key Projects

• Clean Air Act – In coordination with subcontractors applied for air permits. Implemented and

maintained: Class I Title V; Class II; and ‘Operating Permits to Construct’ air permits. Coordinated

with various agencies and management to implement the Chemical Accident Pollution Prevention

Program. Fulfilled the requirements of the Risk Management Plan.

• RCRA – Served as the program manager for permit applications. Maintained two facility RCRA

permits that included two incinerators, Open Burning, and Open Detonation as a TSDF.

• Clean Water Act – Served as program manager for several facility permits. Implemented and

managed the Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasures Plan and the Storm Water Pollution

Prevention Plan.

• National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) – Wrote and implemented numerous Categorical

Exclusions and Environmental Assessments. Participated in the development of the Environmental

Impact Statements for two different government agencies.
