exploration wells drilled in Tarim Basin, located in Xin Jiang, North
West China. I acted as mentor to junior geologist, provide rigsite
training on mudlogging, sample processing and, projecting pore pressure
and well correlation base on lithology and wireline logs. Prepare and
submit final well report to senior manager for reviewing. Tarim Basin
project is a very important project funded by United Nation aiming to
upgrade Chinese Drilling Technology.

cum Geologist
(Partnership Business Venture)
Notable Milestones
> Stellar in bagging projects and completing the work within specified
timeline.
> Successfully handled projects like Turnkey Project, tenders and ad-hoc
proposals as alternative design for tricky foundation as well as
underpinned heritage building.
> Functioned as fully In-charge for project operations, securing contract,
deploying of manpower and machineries, design & construction of building
foundation on hilly and rocky site, and underpinned old or heritage
building.
Feb' 96 - 2005 with United Drillers Pvt. Ltd., Penang, Malaysia as
Operation Geologist cum Manager
Notable Milestones
> Efficiently performed subsurface investigation for high-rise Foundation.
> Instrumentally involved in design and construction of landslide
preventive elements to enhance slope stability and remedial work on
failed slope after landslide.
> Stellar in designing and constructing bored piles & micropile for
building erected on shallow rock terrain as well as hill slope.
> Administered the Subsurface Exploration / Investigation to determine soil
conditions.
Nov ' 94 - Jan' 96 with Shoh Consultancy (Quarry & EIA Consultant), Kuala
Lumpur, Malaysia as Desk Geologist
Local Quarry Consultant Firm
Notable Milestones
> Stellar in writing up geological & environment aspect of new Quarry for
EIA report submission to DOE.
> Carried out Quarry feasibility study with reserve calculation and life
span estimation.
> Ensured collating the geological data as well as scrutinised environment
impact by quarry activity, remedial measure to damages caused and conduct
feasibility study for new quarry prospect.
Jun ' 93 - Oct ' 94 with EXLOG Malaysia Operations, Miri Office as Pressure
Engineer & Coaching Junior Staff
Assigned as unit manager cum pressure engineer role to oversee
geological operations of exploration and appraisal well drilling
in Baram Delta Basin, offshore Miri and Brunei.
July ' 92 - Jun' 93 Seconded to United Nation (UNDC) Funded Programme for
China Government, Exploring Petroleum Reserve in Xinjiang (Tarim Basin), NW
China as Wellsite Geologist cum Trainer
Notable Milestones
> Imparted training to local exploration geology staff on logging,
operating equipment, realtime plot ROP vs gas and etc and charting
realtime temperature (HT) and pressure (HP) of wellbore while drilling,
interpretation and blow out precautions,
> Ensured effective quality control of all evaluation results and logs for
final well report. It was a blind field and classified as HTHP wellbore,
drilling aimed to sunk through a complete geological column until Pre-
Cambrian Continental Basement Rock targeted reaching 6700m TD, the
deepest well in Tarim Basin. Well reached TD at circa 6,500 m. Abnormally
high density drilling mud with heavy weight admixture was circulated at
slow pace to control excessive formation gas (HC) influx.
> Accountable for all safety aspects for the well and personnel during
operations as well as at end of the drilling during wireline logging and
DST flow test, the well was reported with significant HC discoveries from
numerous pay zone intervals.
Jun' 90 - Jun' 92 with Union Texas, Exlog Pakistan Operations (Exploration
Drilling Contract)
Notable Milestones

drilling operations, determining hazardous intervals, casing point & core
point, correlate wireline logs to demarcate potential pay zone or
reservoir sand from shale source rock.
> Instrumentally involved in OPIC Exploration Drilling, South Taiwan
Offshore near Penghu Island and followed by CNOOC drilling in offshore
Shekou, southern China. Both explorations were conducted in South China
Sea onboard SEDCO semi-sub rig from Apr'90 - Jun'90.

entailing collecting and describing cuttings and cores, advising drilling
personnel at well site of expected lithological sequence, pay zones,
casing depth, rate of penetration & possible hazardous intervals ensure
the execution of logging programmes, interpretation of lithology and
advising drilling fluid condition.
