Responsible for creating global engineering and manufacturing operations for Praxair’s food department, which
involved creating and managing NPD as well as establishing procedures and processes required to support R&D,
project management, service, sales, procurement, and marketing. I had full P&L accountability for these multiple
projects and departments. Department budget was $2,000,000 and Project budgets were up to $30,000,000.
Management
• Established engineering department to support design, development, and manufacturing for Praxair
product lines.
• Developed and implemented Management of Change procedure to ensure that regulatory requirements
were not compromised with engineering changes. Used a 5-step gated product development process.
• Manage product development to meet scope, performance, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Recruited and coached Engineering staff to fulfill ongoing project demands. Per project requirements, I
provided detailed scheduling and work assignments to the Engineering team.
Product Development
• Designed Spiral/Rotary Freezers acceptable to the new USDA changed code. This product resulted in
$150,000 revenue per machine sold in USA and Taiwan.
• Designed an improved turkey stunning process to unload the animals in a more humane capacity.
Approved by PETA.
• Redesign their lyophilization chamber and cryogenic tube & shell heat exchangers. The changes resulted
in increased output up to 8%. (Patent Pending)
Manufacturing
Due to new product technology and the technical difficulty in working with stainless steal at very cold
temperatures, I was tasked to set up the Beta manufacturing site for tunnel freezers, rotary chillers, and spiral
freezers. This included designing the equipment, the layout, tooling, and managing the entire production line from
unloading to shipping, until the process proved a 30% increase in output.
• Designed Beta production lines, which were commercialized in the USA, Europe and Asia
• Commercialized patents into revenue generating products from concept through production.
• Instituted and used Lean/Six-Sigma processes to modernize production department, increasing engineering
output by 200%.

• Upon completing the NPD stage, I was tasked as the Lead Manufacturing Engineer to set up the
production lines to manufacture the new machines.
• I was in charge of designing the layout/equipment/tooling, processes, vendor selections, inventory,
organized BOMs, service manuals, process improvements, quality control etc.
