INTERNSHP:
I did my one year of House Surgeoncy in various departments and specialties at Jawahar Lal Nehru
Medical College, Ajmer (India) including 3 month rural service posting, from April 2008 to April
2009.
EXPERIENCE:
I worked as a Junior Resident in the Department of Radio-diagnosis at the All India Institute of
Medical Sciences (AIIMS) since January 2010 to Dec 2012 and as a Senior Resident from Feb-2013
to June-2013. During this period, I had extensive training in different imaging modalities and
interventional techniques. Initial part of the training included conventional radiology (intravenous
urography, barium studies, x-ray reporting etc.). It was followed by training in ultrasound
examinations, Mammography reporting, CT scanning and reporting and MRI scanning and reporting.
I have experience in single slice spiral CT, 4-slice CT, 16-slice CT and 40-slice CT, 64 slice, 128
slice, 256 slice dual energy source CT. The MRI system where I worked was of 1.5 Tesla and also of
3 Tesla strength.
There were separate training periods for Cardiac radiology, Neuroradiology and Nuclear Medicine.
I have performed independently different interventional radiology procedures like ultrasound-guided
FNAC and biopsy (predominantly liver and gall bladder masses, abdominal lymph nodes, thyroid
swellings, breast lumps etc.), ultrasound-guided drainage procedures (like liver abscess, loculated
pleural effusion etc.), stereotactic biopsy of breast. I have done CT-guided procedures (biopsy of
lung masses, mediastinal masses and bony swellings), digital subtraction angiography (both
diagnostic and therapeutic), percutaneous nephrostomy and percutaneous transluminal biliary
drainage.
I also assisted Endovascular procedure like embolization for abdominal and renal aneurysms,
stenting procedures, Transjugular intrahepatic portosystemic shunts, IVC angioplasty.
THESIS SUBMITTED:
Title: Role of Perfusion Computed Tomography in Acute Phase of Mild Head Injury
The aim of the study was to assess perfusion abnormalities in the acute phase of mild head
injury in patients with normal initial noncontrast CT and to correlate patient’s outcome at 6
months with perfusion finding.
In this study, 49 patients with mild head injury and normal initial noncontrast were included.
Ten control patients were also included, those who had no history of head injury Outcome
was determined 6 month after the injury according the extended Glasgow Coma Outcome
Scale score as optimal outcome (GOSE score 8) and suboptimal (GOSE score). In patients
with mild head injury, significant decreased cerebral blood flow and cerebral blood volume
was noted in comparison control patients. Patients with suboptimal outcome, a significant
decrease of cerebral blood flow and cerebral blood volume was detected in anterior and
posterior cerebral artery territory in comparison to patients with optimal outcome.
