HISTORICAL BOOK RECOGNITION USING OCR -

The purpose of the project is to describe a new approach to the

extraction of full

text from the historic documents.OCR engines focus on recognizing

diverse materials printed using modern fonts. In contrast, we intend to

focus on historical books containing a relatively large body of

homogenous material printed using rare old fonts. In this context it

makes sense to create an adaptive OCR that would automatically tune

itself to each book or document.

Input RGB image is converted to gray scale image and pre-processing

(Brightness Correction, Median Filter) is applied on it. Edges are

obtained with Canny Edge Detector. By segmenting image into pre defined

regions seven facial points are obtained. All database images are

compared with input image values with certain precision to identify

closest match.

Responsibilities:

I have developed image processing module. 24 bit BMP image pixel data is

converted in gray scale values in matrix format and then various filters

are applied on it.

Online Library Using Servlet .-

Online Library Management System is a system, which maintains books,

documents, audio/video files. To use this system user must be a member

in this. Then user allowed storing books, documents, A/V files. Then

user can search by giving a simple query. It is very difficult search

books manually. Online Library makes easy.

I have developed backend desing,Connection with database,Database

handling, managing jdbc odbc connection.
