was then hired by Fluor, in early
2011 as a Safety Specialist. Remained with Fluor until completion of
the project. In this role was
Responsible for overseeing and enforcing safety procedures for
construction of pharmaceutical manufacturing facility.
Morton Metalcraft/Matcor Metal Fabrication - Apex/Welcome, NC
March 2000 - March 2010
EHS Coordinator, Safety Director/Plant Engineer for multiple
locations.
Worked to manage overall plant safety at two North Carolina
manufacturing facilities (200,000 and
300,000 sf) involved in metal cutting and production used as
components for various industrial and commercial vehicles marketed by
John Deere, Kubota and Caterpillar. In that role, helped oversee
processes and procedures for more than 500 plant workers.
. Achieved significant reductions in the number of recordable
incidents and worker's compensation cases during tenure in
the position.
. When assigned to Welcome Facility, it had as many as 24
recordable safety incidents a year; brought this down to no
more than 4 annually.
. In overseeing operations at the Apex plant, led that
facility to become the company's outstanding site leader
for safety with no more than 1 to 2 recordables annually.
. Regularly conducted site-wide audits on a regular basis
over the course of many years to help prepare for periodic
OSHA inspections.
. Maintained near perfect track record of managing company's
wastewater, stormwater and air quality permitting over a 10-
year period. Intervened to help reduce solitary DENR fine
from $85,000 down to $35,000 by providing regulators with
evidence of compliance and improvements.
