training.
EDUCATION
B.S., Pulp & Paper Science and Technology and B.S., Chemical Engineering
North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC
SELECTED ACCOMPLISHMENTS
. Established sodium/sulfur/chlorides/potassium balance in chemical
recovery cycle - subsequent process optimization (including recovery of
ClO2 plant saltcake and purge of ash from chemical recovery boiler and
reducing weak wash over flow to sewer). Saved about $400,000 annually
for over 15 years.
. Investigated and initiated the use of more cost effective make-up
chemicals. Crude sodium acetate used for chemical make-up which saved
$250,000 annually for over 10 years.
. Optimized turpentine and tall oil by-products recovery including 15%
increase in turpentine recovery, worth about $125,000 annually.
. Provided process engineering for successful start-up of numerous capital
projects, including: lime kiln, chlorine dioxide generating plant, two
sets of black liquor evaporators, caustic area upgrade, and 3-ply
linerboard machine.
. Presented quotes for $6+ million in tank cleaning and dredging projects
in the last 36 months. Completed over $2 million with $2.5 million still
pending. Renewed or created new business accounts in 28 pulp and paper
mills. Increased sales by 300% since 2013.
