GE-HITACHI, I&C, Wilmington, NC
Responsibilities: Design hardware and firmware for new GE electronic
instruments used in reactor protection, and control systems. Implemented
custom RTL design using VHDL: IOSCM - Input / Output Status and Control
Manager, and IOP - Input / Output Processor. Performed Altium schematics,
Synthesis, Place and Route, Simulation, and Timing Analysis. Generated and
customized user logic for Aurora 8b/10b GTX transceiver for high speed
fiber optic communication channel (up to 4 Gb/s). IOSCM module
interconnected via AMBA AXI4 with Xilinx System on a Chip architecture
(ZYNQ Dual core Cortex-9) to handle packets. Developed embedded firmware
using C for ARM Cortex-9 processor: communication protocol to send or
receive data packets

Responsibilities: Firmware design using C/C++ in RTOS tasks for ARM 32-bit
microcontrollers. Developed CAN bus message protocol and GUI - graphical
user interface. Handled an impact sensor data over SPI interface. Performed
filtering of a piezo element data over ADC port. Packed result data and
send them via CAN bus to the controller board. Performed routines for data
readings, writings from/to EEPROM via I2C bus. Created a boot loader code
to upgrade a firmware via CAN bus for a target electronic board
