Employment History
06/2014 - now VoxGen, London/Berlin Development Manager
As a development manager, I ensure applications are delivered on time, with quality, in an
efficient manner and satisfying the needs of our customers.
I am heavily involved with customer teams distributed in several countries, to discuss their
needs and requirements and finding suitable solutions which can be delivered on a timely
manner
I work with the development team making special emphasis in identifying component
reusability and consistent solution architectures across applications. This reduces delivery
time and ensures better quality on the solutions.
I work with all major stakeholders to define scopes, delivery dates and assign appropriate
resources across projects.
I have created a process for the whole delivery team which ensures efficiency, quick
response times to critical issues, improves clarity and communication on the customer
solutions.
07/2009 – 06/2014 VoxGen, London/Berlin Applications Tech Architect
Technical architecture: responsible for development of extensible and configurable
solutions, following development industry standards, guaranteeing quality assurance and
ensuring customer satisfaction:
o Areas: web, voice, mobile, FB.
Leading and mentoring the development process, technical sessions, code reviews,
automated testing coverage and iterations and release planning across several teams:
o Internal group in Berlin and London, off-shore group in India and a specialized
Social Media development team in Madrid.
Defined and implemented an iterative and agile working methodology across the entire
delivery team and the customer, involving the whole life cycle of the project, from
requirements through LIVE deliverables and long term support.
Agile project planning and working methodologies applied across delivery team, team
leading, technical architecture and design.
07/2003 – 07/2009 VoxGen, London/Berlin Senior Developer
I designed and developed a bespoke JEE Spring framework that:
Enabled low-cost development of voice recognition telephony (VXML) applications
Allows business logic to be developed in an OO language (java), decoupling business logic
from user interface, and making solutions independent from proprietary voice-platforms
Allows the solution to be test-friendly, allowing automatic testing coverage
I was the senior developer and architect for the partnership between Voxgen Professional
Services and Cable and Wireless. My achievements included:
Helping the company move to an agile software methodology
Establishing a common technical infrastructure with well-defined architecture and
development best practices
Contributing to the adoption of ISO quality processes across the company
Mentoring new joiners and junior members
Holding presentations to share knowledge of processes and technologies
Driving improvements to the release and delivery process
I also lead the development of:
Several bespoke multimodal solutions (applications which allow voice input alongside
conventional mouse/keyboard inputs)
A voice biometric security solution for a UK financial institution
02/2002 – 07/2003 DHL Logistics, London Analyst Programmer
Analysis, design and development of a number of web applications, used for the tracking and
management of shipments between warehouses and final customer destinations.
Solutions built using:
Core J2EE technologies and design patters.
JAAS security
Data migration from legacy systems extracted as XML documents fed into Oracle
I promoted agile methodologies using an iterative lifecycle, pair programming, acceptance testing,
Unit testing and mocking
I was involved in project planning and coordination of development activities across a multi-
national team spread over three countries (UK, Sweden and India). I coordinated tasks across the
three teams and mentored other developers to ensure a consistent development across teams.

This was an agile project where we successfully used story cards, iterations, pair programming,
acceptance testing, unit testing and mocking.
