Design and analysis of two types of beam according to ACI 318-02. One is 6? x 10? x 108?
concrete beam so the beam is under reinforced in flexure. FRP was applied as external
reinforcement. FRP was designed so that the beam can carry a certain amount of design load.
Other type of beam (6? x 11? x 108 was design so the beam was under reinforcement in shear.
In order to increase the shear capacity external shear reinforcement, along with flexural
reinforcement, was designed to meet the certain design load.
Innovative VARTM Technology to Strengthen and harden the I-565 Highway Bridge girder,
Huntsville, Alabama.Team leader of this renovation work. Design and calculation of FRP for this
girder. It took two days for four students to complete whole work without any traffic interruption.
