I) APS (Accounts & Products Services) – Middleware Application
THE APPLICATION
Account Product Services (APS) is a middleware solution offered by WF and used throughout the environment. APS is
primarily utilized by the Phone Bank channel (for CIV and IVRU) and the Internet channel. APS provides multiple
services, such as customer sign on, account searches, transfer payments, stop payments, order checks, etc. APS
consists of several HP-Unix servers in both the Cassie Hill and Minneapolis Datacenters that run multiple instances.
APS consists of IBM Websphere application servers. It uses F5 load balancers for load balancing and failover.
Originally, APS was called Business Object Services (BOS) and used a set of reusable CORBA based services, but now
has replaced CORBA with web services (SOAP/XML). Clients can connect to APS using HTTP/HTTPS, JMS
(Websphere MQ). APS is monitored by the Transaction Monitor.
