ACADEMIC PROJECT:

Main Project:

Project Title: “PLC based OLTC driving mechanism” at Transformers and Electrical Kerala Limited(TELK), Angamaly, Kerala.

Description: Detailed study about the constructional details, design procedures of the OLTC, selection, testing procedures both type tests routine tests of OLTC. The control scheme for a typical OLTC is also included. A new improved method of OLTC control can replaces the conventional control scheme based on electromagnetic relays with programmable logic controller (PLC) based scheme. The main advantage of using PLC is that the routine maintenance of relay contacts is not required.

CO-CURRICULAR ACTIVITIES:

Presented a Seminar on “High voltage gain zero voltage switching dc-dc converter” in VKCET on 08-10-2013.

INPLANT TRAINING:

Undergone inplant training in “Transformers and Electrical Kerala Limited”(TELK), Angamaly, Kerala for a period of 5 days on February, 2014 and learnt about switch gears, on load tap changers, transformers and its parts.

INDUSTRIAL VISIT:

* Visited 110kv substation in Kollam, Kerala on 09-08-2011 and learnt about Transformers, Feeders, Isolators, insulators etc.

* Visited “Brahmapuram Diesel Power Plant”(BDPP), Ernakulam, Kerala on
