FlexSteel Pipeline Technologies 2011 - present

Plant Manager - Baytown, TX

Responsible for all manufacturing related operations and planning, plus

support for Product Development and Field Service; 280,000 square foot

manufacturing space on 40 acre campus. 2014 P&L responsibility for $ 201

million of revenue and $80.0 million of operating expenses. Organize, lead

and manage a high of 150 associates to achieve established strategic and

tactical goals.

. Safety - Two (2) Years without a Lost Time Incident (LTI); 295 days

without a recordable incident; reduced TRIR by 82% over twelve (12)

months; reduced first aids by 53%; reduced property damage by 80%.

. Quality - Reduced non-conformances by 63% and eliminated the need for

inventory reserve provision in 2014.

. Throughput - 2015 reduced Finished Goods inventory by 60%; 2014

increased throughput by 146% over 2012.

. Financial - Favorable cost variance of $ 6.1 million in 2014; $ 2

million in material, $ 4 million in labor.

. Product Development - launched seven (7) new products; reduced

manufacturing cost on three (3) products via steel gauge optimization

program.

. CAPEX - reduced Final Acceptance Testing (FAT) time by 50% on second

process line following initial plant construction and commissioning.

. Completed construction, Phase I and II equipment commissioning and team

member recruiting / training for the Baytown, Texas facility in 11

months.

Roll Forming Corporation / voestalpine; Shelbyville, KY 2006 - 2011

Aerospace - Program Manager

Responsible for all New Product Launch activity for the Aerospace business

unit; $ 20.0 million revenue. Led multiple cross functional product

development teams from initial commercial contact through FAT and

transition to regularly scheduled production of metallic components for a

variety of private, commercial and military and space exploration aircraft

with various program revenues (multi-million $) and launch life cycles.

. Improved distributor network gross profit margins to 20% (minimum).

. Launched 110 new structural components using a new aluminum alloy and

heat treat process for the 747-8 program.

. Awarded and developed wing reinforcements for the Navy E2D "Hawkeye"

program.

. Headed new material development for Boeing AH64D Apache rotor blade

Duties include the pursuit of new customer accounts in automotive and heat

transfer (heat exchanger) market for national leader in the production of

small diameter carbon steel tubing. Prior responsibilities included

roll-Kraft, Mentor, Ohio 1997 - 2002

Vice President - Technical Services

Design to order manufacturer of forming tooling (tool & die) and OEM

equipment for tube, pipe (API, DIN and OCTG) and open profile product

producers. Managed applications, design engineering and service departments

following the acquisition of an OEM equipment builder. Previously as

Director of Operations, managed the engineering and manufacturing for three

locations in the United States, including human resource function.

. Planned and led the physical merger of a non-profitable sister division

over a 45 day timeline with no interruption in delivery or customer

service levels during relocation. OEM equipment business returned to

earning a profit.

. Applied Theory of Constraints to analyze work flow; determining six key

indicators to forecast financial performance. Targeted production where

capacity was available, at times shifting work to satellite locations

to manage constraints. Resulted in a 15% increase in shipments over the

previous year with a corresponding increase in profits.

. Established eight Key Performance Indicators (KPIs); which all

employees contributed to achieving. Shared performance information

graphically and established a fixed reward system for meeting targets.

. As Sales Manager (1997 ~ 1998), guided sales growth of 5 divisions by

14% over 1997, total orders of $24 million.

1995 - 1997

NAFTA Sales / Project Manager

Sales and project manager for a pipe (API / OCTG compliant) and tube

process line design and manufacturing OEM. Projects included seam or full

body annealing and secondary processing (cut to length, upsetting, swaging,

threading) equipment.

. Sold and commissioned state of the art shield welding liner for CATV

cable production.

. Sold and project managed the first hydro-formed truck frame tubular

production process in North America.
