Work Experience

May 2013 to Sept 2014 Wayne Engineering, Cedar Falls, IA

Wayne Engineering manufacturers of chassis-mounted productivity solutions

for the solid waste industry and introduced the first Wayne Curbtender in

1970. They also established Wayne Sweepers and acquired two street sweeping

product lines; the Gladiator mechanical sweeper & the air-assisted, PM-10

certified Centurion. Both companies share a common dealer network.

Regional Sales Manager

. Managed a five state territory for both refuse & sweepers. Developed

dealers and service centers in both Northern and Southern California.

. Worked directly with our engineering department and LA County to develop

a CNG (Compressed Natural Gas) powered sweeper that complied with all

Federal Bridge Laws in order to expand our brand to Southern California.

. Sold sweepers to the largest private hauling and sweeping company

Southern California.

. Made initial contact, presented proposals and sold to some in several

major cities including Los Angeles, Los Angeles County, San Diego,

Riverside, Beverly Hills, Santa Monica, San Francisco and Sacramento.

Drove the state of California from zero sales to the number one state in

sweeper sales for Wayne in 1 year.

. Developed a high level of expertise on most of our units and lead sales.

. Spent 6 weeks in the factory learning the manufacturing process and such

things as welding concepts, different metals and their strengths,

hydraulics, pneumatics and solid waste hauling and packing concepts.

Jan 2011 to March 2013 Aable/Terminix Pest Control, Waterloo, IA

. Territory covered NE Iowa, SW Wisconsin and NW Illinois.

. Handled all large commercial sales from prospecting to set-up of service,

including the Iowa Veterans Home, International Paper, Pfizer Animal

Heath, Proctor and Gamble, Target Food Distribution Center, City of

Cedar Rapids and others.

. Managed sales people and technician sales on a day to day basis which

included hiring, training and quality control.

. Providing presentations to groups ranging from a few to over 100 people.

'Continuing Education' sessions for the Waterloo/Cedar Falls Board of

Realtors and the Cedar Rapids Area BOR as well as several informational

presentations to apartment residents, hospital staff, hotel staff and

care home staff.

. Managed the termite baiting program for the company. This included

implementing and supervising a total conversion of over 600 current

customers to a new system which is saving the company over $50,000 per

year.

. My team and I lead this Terminix franchise to being the fastest growing

franchise in the country for 2012 at over 18%.

. Ran all day to day operations including hiring, training, service work,

sales, customer complaints, marketing, billing, payroll, taxes and

accounts payable for 10 plus employees.

. Implemented a water restoration arm of the company by acquiring

certification in water restoration and generating contacts in the

insurance field.

. Completely updated the computer system and all data from DOS.

. Devised and implemented a sales system and sales follow-up system to

. Ran all day to day operations including marketing, hiring, training,

. Greatly enlarged the size of the company in under five years by focusing

on customer service and B2B sales.

. Handled all commercial sales, selling the 2nd and 3rd largest casino

resorts in the area, all 47 Washoe County/Reno Fire Departments, all 5

Northern Nevada Prisons, 7 of the areas 10 largest home builders and the

largest Wal-Mart Food Distribution center in the region (over 1.5 million

sq ft of regulated food storage and distribution).

. Became board member of the Executive Association of Reno, a respected

business association in Reno.

. Took the company from nearly all Residential service to 70% Commercial

service.

Earlier work:

For the first 10 years, I worked for my Dad who owned the Aable and

Terminix operations in Northeast Iowa. Began as a Tech and then to Service

Manager, Branch manager and finally Sales Manager.
