PROJECT MANAGEMENT
• Maintain accreditation and licenses with AHCA, CAP, and CLIA
Goal: Make sure the hospital is up to date with their license’s and certificates with all state, local, and federal agencies.
Coming towards the expiration date of all respected license’s and certificate’s, I take the lead in gathering all necessary information for the renewal
application and make sure the all documentation and fees are submitted with ample time, for changes, if needed.
• Development of work flow processes in Clinical and Anatomic Pathology at Nemours Children’s Hospital
Goal: Create process flows for Clinical and Anatomic Pathology.
Creating a work flow that was easily understood by all associates and which removed any and all confusion of the method prior to the opening of
the hospital. All work flows were revised multiple times before and after the opening of the Laboratory. Examples of the plans would include: bone
marrows, cytology, autopsies, kidney biopsies, patient reports etc.
• Safety development and training at Nemours Children’s Hospital
Goal: Create a system of educating and training the associates on safety matters.
Ensure all associates met their 6 month and annual training, and making sure the CAP and State regulations were met by the Laboratory. Created an
auditing system to make sure all associates were up to date on their knowledge of the training, and providing them with any new information. In
order to make sure we were compliant with the Hospital policies, we created a roster system for all and any disaster drills.
• Information Management at Nemours Children’s Hospital
Goal: Create efficient method of separating essential and non-essential mail.
Maintained a role of triaging essential and non-essential mail and ensuring each respected party / department received their mail in a timely fashion.
This method reduced steps for the materials management team and secured the process of mail distribution.
Goal: Creating a standard consent form for all medical procedures in the Hospital.
Responsibility entailed creating a clear consent forms for patients and family members of all procedures. The consent form was built to meet
HIPPA, AHCA, and Hospital regulations. In order to make sure the form was understood the context was written in English and Spanish, and it
included what the procedure was, the possible side effects, and potential complications.
Goal: Complete Rapid Patient Information Project: Document all internal and external patient transfers
In order to adhere to the State regulations a system needed be created to document any internal and external patient transfers and maintain that
information electronically. This information would also allow the hospital to monitor how many consult cases, outpatient clinic referrals, and
hospital to hospital transfers that were done since the opening of Nemours Children’s Hospital.
