US Silica US Silica is a leading sand silica supplier for the oil and gas and industrial products
industries. With revenues of $500 million, US Silica has become a major supplier to the United States
energy sector.
Controller (April 2012 Present)
Controller responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting activities for two manufacturing locations with a
combined operating budget of $240M and revenues of $375M – Ottawa IL, Rochelle IL.
General Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage month end close activities for two facilities.
• Lead and manage day to day accounting activities.
• Responsible for Sarbanes Oxley compliance for all three facilities.
• Responsible for all financial analysis and reporting.
• Manage five accounting personnel.
Accomplishments:
• Member of the startup team that implemented JD Edwards at our Rochelle facility – this included all accounting
functions as well the perpetual inventory systems.
• Drove cost savings initiatives that resulted in over two million dollars of real dollar saving to the Ottawa facility.

• Reduced month end close from three days to two days by implementing standard processes and procedures that
produced a consistent and timely month end close for all three facilities.

Controller Indiana Harbor Operations (2008 – 2012)
Controller responsible for managing all accounting and financial reporting activities for a manufacturing location with an
operating budget of $280M and revenues of $400M.
General Responsibilities:
• Lead and manage month end close activities for Indiana Harbor Coke
• Lead and manage day to day accounting activities
• Responsible for all financial analysis and reporting.

Accomplishments:
• Converted manual coal inventory reporting system into an automated perpetual inventory system.
