Accountant/ Business Manager 07/2003 to Current

ERA Ben Porter Real Estate Huntsville, Alabama

• My responsibilities include preparation of all A/R, A/P, Payroll transactions, and miscellaneous G/L entries which

produce consolidated financial statements which include income statements, balance sheet, and trial balance for

corporate office as well as four subsidiaries utilizing QuickBooks 2014.

• I am responsible for all internal and external audits including year end, workman’s comp, liabilities insurance, and

various state escrows.

• I am responsible for calculating sales commission/expenses for 70 agents, which includes reviewing and

approving all HUD closing documents.

• Other responsibilities include calculation of City and County Business Licenses taxes.

• I am responsible for the preparation of sales and expense budgets for corporate and subsidiaries and provide

monthly variances analysis between actual and budget numbers.

• Other responsibilities as a business manager includes troubleshooting minor I/T issues and website management.

• My responsibilities included Payroll preparation for approximately 65 employees, including 941’s, unemployment

taxes, 403(b), W-2’s, quarterly tax forms, year-end tax forms, and other miscellaneous deductions.

• Responsible for posting payroll to general ledger, balancing payroll accounts, reconcile monthly bank statements

and reconciling payroll liabilities accounts.

• Responsible for all accounts payables and accounts receivable transactions, reconciling cash transfer account,

monthly closings through financial statements and balance sheets.

• Responsible for grant support and contract compliance for three grants with the Department of Human Services.

• Responsible for preparing monthly billings for the Department of Human Services.

• Responsible for reporting ISC monthly expenses, and billing each department for expenses spent over their yearly

budgets, reconcile administration allocations, cash disbursement on a weekly basis, and assisting with

preparation of yearly budgets for all programs.

• Other responsibilities included assisting with program contracts and proposals, revising job descriptions, assisting

in establishing a pay scale for the center, and responsible for tracking all investments in the 403(b) plan.
