I am looking to continue my career as an emergency room nurse, that being said I am more than open to new

WORK EXPERIENCE
ER RN
Rady Children's Hospital San Diego - San Diego, CA - April 2008 to October 2014
Responsibilities
I worked in the emergency department as a staff nurse working in several nursing capacities within the
department. I work in triage, assessment, trauma, resource, preceptor, and charge nurse for 2 years. As an
ER nurse I worked in any job within my scope of practice that was beneficial to the department, and this did
change day to day based on staffing and skill set needs of the dpeartment
Accomplishments
I was a very accomplished and well established nurse throughout the organization. I was know as a very well
skilled and knowledgeable nurse. I had people from various departments that knew my personally and enjoyed
working with me. I was highly thought of and used as a daily resource in the emergency department on a daily
basis no matter what role I was doing for the shift.
Skills Used
Very strong clinical acumen and nursing skills related to the position I was working for the shift. I was constantly
used as a resource for my clinical judgement and skills as in IV, assessment, knowledge, teamwork, etc

Responsibilities
My roles and responsibilities varied upon each assignment that I worked. I worked for a travel nursing company
in various level 1 trauma centers for adults and children. I would work in any capacity within the department
needs and staffing module for each assignment.
Accomplishments
I worked as a travel nurse for approximately 3 years and was very well liked and had an excellent reputation
with my company and with each assignment I completed. I was well looked upon and was frequently offered
an extension on each contract of which I completed.
Skills Used
I used my skills from working at the University of Kentucky Medical Center and took all the skills from the first
three years of my nursing career. I also used this time to expand my knowledge and growth as an emergency
department nurse with each assignment I was contracted.
ER RN
Univeristy of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center - Lexington, KY - May 2003 to December 2005
Responsibilities
I started as new graduate nurse in this level 1 trauma center for adult/pediatrics. UK was also the regional
burn center. Over my three years in the department I was able to learn and grow to take care of any patient
that presented to the emergency room over my career.
Accomplishments
I grew as a new graduate nurse in the emergency department over time I was able to care a wide variety of
patients from urgent care level all the way through a trauma/medical arrest patients. I grew by leap and bounds
during my almost three years at the University emergency department.
Skills Used
I was able to grow from a basic nurse learning all the nursing skills needed to take care of a wide range of ages
and ailments. By the time I left I was able to care for a wide variety of patient and be comfortable and able to
do so with little assistance by more experienced nurses with much longer experience within the emergency
department. I used my skills and knowledge learned to allow my to go into an ER and be comfortable, confident,
and able to perform on a high level.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I am an excellent ER RN with 10+ years of bedside experience and looking for new opportunities within the
ER and outside of the ER. I plan on expanding my growth as a nurse no matter what job I end up working in
next. Even though my experience, training, and practice is in bedside emergency nursing. I have many skill
and attributes I can put into any job I do regardless if I continue in the emergency room or into another area
to advance my career and growth as a nurse
