Adaptive and Robust Control design for Airfoil Vibration Suppression

03/2012-Present

. The goal is to design novel adaptive and robust control strategies for

single-input-single-output(SISO) or multiply-input-multiply-

output(MIMO) systems operating in different conditions;

. Designed adaptive controllers for MIMO aeroelastic systems with

unknown parameters;

. Designed output feedback sliding mode based continuous robust

controllers for aeroelastic systems with uncertainties ; Estimated

unmeasurable states by using filter compensation;

. Implement and verified those control algorithms in Matlab/Simulink.

Controller Design and Modeling for Three Phase Grid Tied Photovoltaic

System 06/2013-09/2013

. The controller was designed to synchronize the solar panel output to

power grid for energy harvesting;

. Built the small signal model for a 400 watt prototype DC-AC inverter

for a photovoltaic system;

. Implemented the simulation model and of 3-phase DC/AC grid-connected

converter in Matlab/Simulink;

. Implemented the control algorithms by microcontrollers with dsPIC33F

and ARM Cortex-M3 STM32F and ensured the peak efficiency of the

prototype to be 96%, the results were published on a journal paper.

Sensorless Field-Oriented Control Design for Permanent Magnet Synchronous

Machine 01/2013-05/ 2013

. Developed an electric drive for permanent magnet synchronous machine

for torque and speed control;

. Built PMSM motor model and dual-loop control algorithm with SVPWM in

Matlab/Simulink;

. Designed the Field-Oriented control with a sliding mode estimator for

Sensorless control;

. Implemented the control algorithm with TI TMS320F28207 on C2000

platform with a TI BOOSTXL-DRV8301 and generate part of C code with

Simulink code generation tools (Embedded coder).

2.5D Visual Serving Robot Manipulator Modeling and Controller Design

09/2012-12/ 2012

. Developed a tracking strategy for PUMA robot manipulator with vision

feedback signals;

. Built the PUMA robot manipulator model and robot vision model in

Matlab/Simulink;

. Regulated the 3D position and orientation of a camera held by the end-

effector of the robot manipulator to a desired position and

orientation;

. Implemented an adaptive control strategy for the joint torque control

input for dynamical trajectory tracking in Matlab/Simulink.

Image Processing based Error-proofing System for Diesel Engine Components

. The system was developed to count the installed diesel engine

components from sampled image to prevent worker forgetting installing

necessary components;

. Implemented the system in Visual Studio 6.0 with C++ using Microsoft

Foundation Class (MFC);

. Segmented engine components from background; Identified the engine

components and count the number of the installed components with over

95% accuracy.

Diesel Engine Valve Clearance Adjustment System

03/2009-02/2010

. This system was design to aid the worker adjust the valve clearance

during diesel engine assembling;

. Designed PLC software on Siemens S7-200 and 611u control module for

servomotor control;

. Installed the equipment in the factory of Dongfeng Cummins Engine

Company, Xiangfan, Hubei, China;

. Guaranteed over one year trouble-free operation and it is still

running on the assembly line.

Human Machine Interface based Data Acquisition and fault System for Diesel

Engine Test 11/2009-02/2010

. Built data collection system for acquiring real time diesel engine

torque data during cold test;

. Implemented the system with KingView(a Chinese SCADA software), PC-

Access and Access Database;

. Fulfilled data analysis system with C#&Access Database in Visual

Studio 2005 for fault diagnosis.
