DESCRIPTION:
WEMS (Wireless Energy Management Solution) is proposed to design an
advanced Automated energy management system which can provide benefits with state
of the art Technologies viz. RISC microcontroller ATMEGA 32 is a low-power CMOS 8-bit
microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced, By executing powerful instructions in a single
clock cycle, the ATmega32 achieves throughputs approaching 1 MIPS per MHz allowing
the system designed to optimize power consumption versus processing speed and ZIGBEE
for wireless data transmission and Networking purposes and LabVIEW platform data
reading and management at the server side. Embedded C language is used for the
programming of the Atmega microcontroller. Advanced Metering systems can provide
benefits for utilities, retail providers and customers. Benefits will be recognized by the
utilities with increased efficiencies, outage detection, tamper notification and reduced labor
cost as a result of automating reads, connections and disconnects.
