DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This project involved Supporting Datastage Application for a cluster, handling dependency with the client upstream and

downstream systems. Performing Datastage Administration tasks and managing 10 DS Servers.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintenance and supporting of about 10 DS Servers in the role of Datastage Administrator.

• Performed patches Fix pack 2 and other fix patches on DS 8.5 Servers and Clients.

• Point of Contact for communication with IBM for Datastage related issues.

• Performed Upgrade of AVI 8 to AVI 10 in all Servers and existing DS jobs. Performed testing on new version and

worked with IBM to resolve the identified on the issues. Conducted UAT with End users and dependent team and got

the sign off.

• Developed and Supported Real time DS jobs which are used for Address verification across multiple clusters.

• Maintenance and Enhancement of Datastage applications which are scheduled through Mainframe.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Developing Datastage job for Legacy data migration

• Implementing Business logic for the different transformation rules to be implemented.

• Coordination with different teams for data correction, cleansing functions.

• Developed Datastage project backup script in Windows server and scheduled it through the OPC scheduler to run

daily/weekly. It also updates the backup success/failure report in a text file for the history of backups with date/time,

• Auto cleanup of backups which are more than 3 weeks old as per requirement.

• Also developed script for rollback the backups taken when needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsibilities included requirement gathering, designing, development, unit testing, system testing and warranty

support for the ETL jobs using DataStage V 8.0.

• Lead development of 3 out of 7 Source systems DS job development and also developed Common jobs using data from

staging area data of these source system to the publishing layer, which includes Data cleansing, Address Verification &

Standardization, Perl scripting, primary key generation using CRC process and rejecting orphan child entity data.

• Additional responsibilities were to enhance competency knowledge of the team and increase their knowledge base in

DataStage.

Project: DS Job Development Project

Software: Datastage 8.0, Oracle 10g, Netezza, Putty

Duration: 10 Month (September 2008 – June 2009)

Client: COLT located in London, UK

The Project involves the automation of Daily and Monthly data loads in the target Netezza Data warehouse. There were Daily

Dimension files feed and Weekly and monthly Unbilled and Billed Transaction data received from the source database. This data

was used to generate the New Generation Reports using Business Object tool which enables Client for Business Intelligence (BI)

and adding value to the business

• Co ordination with Designers to translate the requirements & coding ETL jobs in DataStage 8x, design activities

• Testing of the solution and Debugging.

• Worked for the development large volume of data for Charge Detail Records, Charge Transaction Records & Voice

Client has its retail system in and it was running using PL/SQL written procedures. In this project these PL/SQL procedures were

migrated to the DataStage ETL jobs and were automated for the Daily data load to the Netezza Database from Oracle Database.
