June 2014 – Present: Social Worker, Psychiatric Institute of Washington. Serving as full time social worker in an
inpatient hospital on the adult acute-care psychiatric unit and detox unit.
Responsibilities include:
- maintaining a caseload of up to 15 patients with a wide range of diagnoses, including chronic schizophrenia, mood
disorders and substance abuse issues;
- helping patients navigate resources and identify strategies to address their mental health concerns;
- conducting psychosocial assessments;
- facilitating family meetings;
- preparing treatment plans and discharge plans;
- participating in daily rounds;
- coordinating with outside caseworkers and other clinicians to set up follow-up care.
July 2013 – June 2014: Christ Child Society. Served as social worker at St. Thomas More Academy in Southeast
Washington, DC.
Responsibilities included:
- serving as school social worker for students in grades K – 8;
- meeting one-on-one with students needing individual counseling;

conducting home visits, checking references and being a source of support to host families.
• Volunteer with Partners for Kids in Care, a program that assists children in the DC foster care system.
• Board member of Alice Deal Middle School Home and School Association.
• Started 501(c)(3) nonprofit group, Friends of Glover Park, in an effort to renovate a local DC recreation center.
