A leading member of “Enhanced Heavy Oil Recovery”, “Low Salinity Waterflood”, and “Carbonated Waterflood” joint industry projects. This position requires design
of PVT and coreflood experiments, interpretation of the results, simulation using commercial software and providing research directions to PhD students. Following
studies were performed in this position:
• Non Thermal Heavy Oil Joint Industry Project:
• Investigated the effect of different surfactants and alkalis to improve the performance of CO 2 foam in presence of heavy oil via high pressure
visual cell.
• Design of new chemical to improve CO2 foam stability in presence of heavy oil
• Perform high pressure micromodel experiments for identifying new mechanisms which are involved in AS CO 2 foam injection to extra heavy
oil system
• Carry out high pressure core flood test with dead and/or live fluids to evaluate performance of different scenarios water, CO 2 and CO2 foam
flood in heavy oil and extra heavy oil system
• Main tasks: designing, performing and conducting experiments, interpretation results of experiments and preparing report of the results of
experiments

• Carry out high pressure core flood tests with live oil system to evaluate the performance and to understand the affecting parameters during
carbonated water injection

• Low Salinity Water Injection Studies Joint Industry Project:
• Conduct contact angle measurements for screening of proper low salinity water
