Supervisor/Leadman (1998-2013)
Responsible for supervising 5-15 employees in the remodel and repair
of diesel locomotives. Duties included:
. Assign daily task to employees to repair locomotives per
customer's scope of work.
. Supervise employees to the completion of customers work scope.
. Q A completed work scopes.
. Inventory and order materials and parts needed to complete work
scopes.
. Directly work with customers as to special needs or changes
requested.
. Water, drain, fuel, start, stop, operate locomotives.
. Inbound/outbound inspections.
. Prepare locomotives for shipment to customer.
. Remove from locomotives the old seats, windows, ceilings,
floors, doors, toilets, batteries, a/c units, heaters, icebox,
ice chest, M.U. hoses and cables, headlights, ditch lights,
ground, step, walkway, engine room, cab, control stand bulbs,
number boards etc. and install new.
. Paint and decal /stencil locomotive car bodies, frames, engines,
cabs, and low noses, truck assemblies, number boards.
. Switching of locomotives.
. Forklift operation.
. Wash and clean locomotives to conform to government
specifications.
Locomotive Shop Safety Coordinator (2006-2010)
Responsible for supervising weekly safety inspections of two
locomotive shops and scrap yard with 3 employees. Duties included:
. Make lists of defects and report them to the Head of Shop
Operations.
. Coordinate with Head of Shop Operations on how to correct any
safety issues.
. Conduct weekly safety meetings with shop employees.
. Discuss safety issues with employees and how to prevent
accidents from occurring or reoccurring.
Accident Investigation Team (2005-2010)
Responsible for assisting with accident investigations that result in
Loss Time Injury. Duties included:
. Assist in interviewing employees and witnesses to determine the
cause of the accident.
. Coordinate with other team members to provide solutions to
prevent accident reoccurrence.
. Write accident report for the Plant Safety Director with
findings as to the cause of accidents and suggest the
implementation of new safety standards and policy changes.
